Sharon And Ozzy Osbourne's Relationship Timeline, Cheating Scandals, Attempted Murder And More

On July 5, 2025, legendary heavy metal singer, Ozzy Osbourne of the iconic Black Sabbath band said farewell to a career of five decades of live performances. Along with his unique music that defined a genre, Ozzy also made quite a lot of headlines for his tumultuous relationship with wife, Sharon Osbourne. Spanning over four decades, the couple saw a lot of ups and downs. However, they stuck together through thick and thin. Here's everything about their marriage, from their first meeting to cheating scandal, reunion and everything in between. 

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne first met when she was just 18, but sparks flew much later 

Sharon Osbourne's (then Sharon Levy) father used to manage the Black Sabbath band, which Ozzy was a part of when the couple met for the first time in 1970. Sharon was just 18 years old at the time. However, it was much later that they met again and started dating. In 1979, Ozzy was ousted from the band due to issues with dr*g abuse. When the singer was spending his days locked inside a hotel in an inebriated state, Sharon stepped up and helped him recover. She also became his manager and was the one to convince him to launch his solo career. During this time, Sharon and Ozzy also grew closer personally and started dating. 

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne tied the knot and welcomed three children 

In 1982, Sharon and Ozzy tied the knot after the latter finalised his divorce with his first wife, Thelma. According to reports, the couple started dating when Ozzy was still married to Thelma. After their marriage, Ozzy and Sharon welcomed three children, their two daughters, Aimee and Kelly, in 1983 and 1984, respectively. They were then blessed with a baby boy, Jack, in 1985. Out of all three of the Osbourne children, Aimee is the most private and has stepped away from the limelight. Kelly and Jack on the other hand are media personalities just like their parents. 

Ozzy Osbourne was arrested for the attempted murder of Sharon Osbourne 

Ozzy Osbourne struggled for years with dr*g abuse. In 1989 he also allegedly tried to kill Sharon. His wife claimed that the singer said to her, "I've decided you have to go", and then tried to strangle her. Sharon called the police and had him arrested. However, she refrained from pressing charges against her husband, who was ordered to go to rehab. Sharon said to PEOPLE:

"He was totally insane from all the drink and dr*gs he was doing, and well, these things happen."

Ozzy Osbourne denied divorce rumours 

Ozzy and Sharon enjoyed a number of years as a family when they started their reality TV show, The Osbournes, which showcased their daily life as a family. However, their eldest daughter, Aimee chose not to be a part of the show. For four years the show ran successfully, after which the Osbournes decided to step away from being reality TV stars. After a few years later, around 2013, rumours started floating around about Ozzy and Sharon's divorce. The reason for this separation was cited to be the singer's relapse. Taking to his Facebook handle, Ozzy stated that he had relapsed for the past year, but he was 44 days sober and him and Sharon were not heading for a divorce. He had penned down:

"For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an a------ to the people I love most, my family," he wrote. "However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober."

Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon separated for a few months due to his infidelity; the singer's mistress also opened up  

In 2016, Ozzy and Sharon saw another hitch in their marriage when the two separated for a few months due to the singer's infidelity. However, a few months later Ozzy said that their marriage was back on track again as the two had reconciled. Sharon also forgave her husband on The Talk and said:

"I forgive. It's going to take a long time to trust, but we've been together 36 years, 34 of marriage … I just can't think of my life without him."

A few days later, after the couple announced their reconciliation, Ozzy's former hairstylist, Michelle Pugh, revealed that the two had been in an extramarital affair for four years, starting from 2012. Michelle said that she wasn't a 'groupie' who went after Ozzy for his money. Instead, she alleged that she was pursued by the married man. Sharon, during this time, told The Telegraph that Ozzy had an affair with the hairdresser to fill a void. A representative of Ozzy said to PEOPLE that the singer was in therapy for s*x addiction and that the affair between the two was just a s*xual relationshship. Talking about the affair between Michelle and the singer, the rep had said:

"He is sorry if Ms. Pugh took their s*xual relationship out of context. He would like to apologize to the other women he has been having s*xual relationships with. Out of the bad comes good. Since his relationship with Ms. Pugh was exposed, Ozzy has gone into intense therapy."

Sharon talked about Ozzy Osbourne's infidelity 

In 2017, Sharon and Ozzy renewed their vows, and the singer opened up about his past 'mistakes' and said that he has never loved anyone more than his wife. In the same year, Sharon sat for an interview with The Telegraph and stated that Ozzy was involved with six women, including the hairdresser, Michelle Pugh. Sharon said that she found out about his infidelities when one day he sent her an email which was meant for one of his mistresses. Sharon listed out that he had an affair with a Russian teenager, a masseuse in England, their personal masseuse in the U.S.A and their cook. Talking about how she found out about his affairs, Sharon said:

"Ozzy on one couch and me on the other, and suddenly, he sends me this email. 'Why did you send me this stupid email?' I asked. When Ozzy told me that he hadn't sent me anything, I grabbed his phone and said, 'Look!' And of course it was a message meant for one of his bloody women."

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne launch their family podcast channel 

With a tumultuous marriage, Ozzy and Sharon opened up about their relationship in numerous interviews. The singer also revealed that he regretted cheating on his wife and had stopped doing so and would never replace either. After this admission, the couple celebrated 40 years of their marriage and also went on vacations. Finally, in 2023, the family announced that they had launched their very own podcast, The Osbournes Podcast. Their eldest daughter, Aimee, who was not seen in the reality show before, was also part of this new family venture.
