Seema Kapoor is a filmmaker and writer who rose to fame for her contributions to the Indian cinema and television industry. She is the sister of Ranjit Kapoor, Annu Kapoor and Nikhil Kapoor. In a recent memoir the filmmaker opened up about her bond with ace late actor, Om Puri.

Seema Kapoor was married to actor, Om Puri. However, the couple parted ways less than a year after their marriage. Now, Seema has opened up about her relationship with her late ex-husband, Om Puri. The filmmaker has recently released her memoir, Yoon Guzri Hai Ab Talak. In the memoir, she spoke about her early years growing up around a Parsi theatre, her interactions with people from the film world, and her marriage to Om Puri.

In the memoir, Seema Kapoor wrote that Om Puri was not a curse but a blessing in his life. The filmmaker revealed that setbacks are often necessary for a person to understand their own strength. She added that she believes that every sorrow is an opportunity to refine them from within. Seema further stated that she was not only grateful for enduring but also absorbing her sorrows. She was quoted as saying:

"Puri sahab was not a curse for my life but a blessing. Often, it's only after a setback that you recognise your own strength. If I hadn’t gone through that pain, perhaps I wouldn't be where I am today. I believe every sorrow that enters our life is an opportunity to refine us from within. I am grateful not only for enduring that sorrow but for absorbing it. That experience wounded me, yes, but I emerged from it a better, more sensitive human being."

Seema Kapoor on the hardships she endured 

Seema Kapoor further discussed the challenges she faced during her initial days. In the memoir, she further stated that these jotlts help in uncovering one's hidden strength and resilience. She also spoke about how if she hadn't faced those challenges, she would not be where she is. She was quoted as saying:

"Sometimes, it is only when life jolts you that you truly discover your own strength and resilience. If I hadn't endured those hardships, perhaps I wouldn't be where I am today."

Seema Kapoor and Om Puri's relationship

Seema Kapoor married Om Puri in 1991. However, their marital bliss was short lived and they separated within a year of their marriage. He later divorced her and married the journalist, Nandita Puri. However, 14 years later, Om reunited with Seema and they shared a close bond until he passed away in 2017.
