Kajol, daughter of Tanuja and Shomu Mukherjee, tied the knot with Ajay Devgn, son of Veeru Devgan and Veena Devgan, in 1999 at the peak of their careers. The '90s was a period of Ajay and Kajol's rise to prominence and by the end of the decade, the couple had embarked on their marital journey as husband and wife in a traditional Maharashtrian Hindu wedding. Four years after their wedding, in 2003, Kajol and Ajay had embraced parenthood with the arrival of their daughter, Nysa Devgan and seven years later, in 2010, their family was completed with the arrival of their son, Yug.

Ajay Devgn and Kajol completed 22 years of marital bliss in February 2021 and to mark the same, the couple, in their own witty selves, wished each other on social media. Kajol posted a throwback BTS clip from their film, U Me Aur Hum, and captioned it as ""And you sir, you’re very attractive. Therefore, I will stare at you!” - Anonymous & Me #22years #stillgoing #grateful #laughingalways." Ajay posted a picture of a wine bottle that has Kajol and his photograph with the text, "Battled in 1999, only edition" printed on it. With no caption post, Ajay had let the picture do the talking.
Nysa Devgan, who is studying in Singapore, found her spot on the trending list with her viral video, dancing to her mom, Kajol's songs. From Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham's song, Bole Chudiyan to Tere Naina and Sajda from the film, My Name Is Khan, Nysa danced on the hit tracks of her superstar mom. The group also danced to Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor's hit track, Nagada from the film, Jab We Met. After watching Nysa perform on-stage, it is quite evident that she is a star in the making.

On April 20, 2020, to mark Nysa Devgan’s 17th birthday, Kajol Devgan had posted a video that comprised of some cherishable moments of her daughter. As Nysa had turned 17, her doting mother had comprised her solo pictures and the ones with her family in a video and had captioned it as “Almost an adult. All of 17 and part of my heart always. Happy birthday to the most beautiful girl in the world! #allgrownup #lovemybabygurl.” Kajol had beautifully explained her feelings as her baby girl is growing up with a song, My Little Girl by Tim Mcgraw. And on Yug’s tenth birthday, Kajol had posted a slo-mo video of her son with a ‘miss you’ caption. She had written, ""I know nothing I know everything"- Yug Devgan. Happy 10th birthday to my little Buddha. Miss u more than I can say."

Kajol Devgan firmly believes that her daughter, Nysa Devgan and her son, Yug Devgan have positively impacted the person and the actor in her. Kajol had stated in an interview with the Hindustan Times, "My children make me want to be a better person and sometimes a more fun one. Being a mum added a lot to who I was and it has only made me a better actor." Revealing why her children haven’t watched too many of her films, Kajol had added, "Both my kids love to watch films but haven’t seen many of mine. Firstly, because I haven’t made that many and secondly, according to them, I cry too much and I make them cry too much, so it’s heavy going."
For the uninitiated, Nysa Devgan, daughter of Kajol and Ajay Devgn had completed her schooling at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai. Post which, she had enrolled in the United College of Southeast Asia in Singapore in early 2018, away from the media scrutiny. Sometimes, Nysa attends B-town parties and get-togethers with her star parents and needless to say, this teenage star kid is certainly the show-stealer!
