Nushrratt Bharrucha Talks On Being Replaced By Ananya Panday In 'Dream Girl 2', 'It Hurt Me...'

Nushrratt Bharrucha has made her mark in Bollywood by playing versatile roles in the industry. Despite tasting success in the initial phase of her career, the actress didn't stop experimenting with her characters to entertain the audience, which has won her massive appreciation. From Pyaar Ka Punchnama to Chhorii, she has improved herself with every performance to thrive in the industry. But, in a recent interview, Nushrratt shared how she was left upset when Ananya Panday replaced her in her film, Dream Girl's sequel. 

Nushrratt Bharrucha admits she was hurt after being replaced by Ananya Panday

Nushrratt Bharrucha has always been honest in her interviews, whether they have been about her experience in the industry or alleged affairs. She sat down for an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit and opened up about her feelings when Ananya Panday replaced her in the film, Dream Girl's sequel. For those unaware, Nushrratt played the role of 'Mahi Rajput' opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in the film, Dream Girl and fans loved her performance as a girl next door. Fans were upset over it, and Nushrratt admitted that she was equally hurt. She said:

"It hurt me even more when I was not a part of my own sequel. Every other actor was the same, except the girl, which I felt was not cool, na, guys? It's just not cool. Theek hai, no problem.”

In the same conversation, the host asked if she ever argued or called out the filmmakers over her replacement. But, she simply mentioned that she can't fight over something that won't change. At the same time, what would she complain about? The actress mentioned that she couldn't question the choice and just went on with it. In her words:

"No, Nayan. I'll be honest with you. I can't fight something I know is not going to change in any way, where I know there is no… What do I fight? What am I going to say? 'Why not me?' They'll say, "We don't want you.' That's the truth of it. It ends there. Eventually, it's a choice somebody's making. I cannot question your choice."

When Ayushmann Khurrana shared his opinion on Ananya Panday's casting in Dream Girl 2

Previously, in an interview with The Indian Express, Ayushmann Khurrana, who played the popular role of 'Karamveer Singh' who impersonated a female voice to get a job, shared his opinion on Ananya taking Nushrratt's place in the hit film's sequel. The actor praised Ananya and mentioned that the young actress has a certain spunk in her personality that correctly fits the requirements for her role. Moreover, she worked hard to develop a Mathura accent. Consequently, he was sure she did well and would continue to do so. He said:

"This is an organic sequel to Dream Girl. We had to cast a different film, and Ananya fit the bill. I think she is very spunky and adds value to the film. The way she takes the Mathura accent in the film is commendable. It was fun working with her, and I would love to work with her in the future."

Nushrratt Bharrucha is the daughter of a businessman and made her debut in acting with a small role in the 2002 show, Kittie Party. She made her film debut with Jai Santoshi Maa and featured as a lead actress for the first time in Love Sex Aur Dhokha. The actress gained recognition for her role and grew in her career with films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Akaash Vani, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl, Chhalaang and more. She will be next seen in the sequel of her popular series, Chhorii with Soha Ali Khan.
