Nita Ambani inaugurated the India House at Paris Olympics on July 27, 2024. It is a first of its kind at an Olympic Games for India. Undoubtedly, Indians are extremely delighted after witnessing such an initiative by the Ambanis. For the uninitiated, the endeavour is a partnership between the Indian Olympic Association and the Reliance Foundation.
The India House is a temporary setup in Paris in order to promote Indian culture at the Olympics. It is mainly an initiative by the Ambanis as India aspires to host the 2036 Games. Thus, Nita Ambani, an International Olympic Committee member, on the inauguration day, addressed the same, and said:
“Today we gather here at the Paris Olympic Games 2024 to open the doors to a dream. A dream that belongs to 1.4 billion Indians. A dream to bring India to the Olympics and our shared dream to bring the Olympics to India.”

Nita Ambani was accompanied by her husband, Mukesh Ambani and their daughter, Isha Ambani, at the Paris Olympics 2024. For the day, Isha looked elegant in a beige trench coat teamed with subtle makeup and middle-parted bun hairdo. Mukesh, on the other hand, wore a black coat teamed with a white shirt underneath. FIFA President, Gianni Infantino was also impressed by the arrangements and said at the event:
“It’s beautiful, it’s colorful. It’s smiles, it’s joy, it’s happiness. It’s India. It’s what we all love, the entire world. The world is here today. And India House unites the world.”

India House is one of several hospitality houses, affiliated with participating countries or brands that was set up around the Olympic Games. This was a tribute to Indian architecture and artistic motifs. Thus, the entrance was decorated with royal elephants, tigers and peacocks. Following this, as we virtually enter inside the house, it offers an array of programs to the audiences present over there. The entire place is decorated paying homage to athletes from India and many other legendary persons.

From Kashmir's Pashmina shawls adorned in the display section to people from Benaras actually weiving Rangkat sarees, every glimpse of India was found over there. Virtual reality tourism, cricket matches, workshops on block printing, and lounge for athletes, were also amongst some of the major interests at the India House. Not only that, henna artist, Veena Nagda was also present for tattooing mehendi designs along with her team.
To end our list, we must mention, there was an opening night concert from ace singer, Shaan alongside a Bollywood dance performance. Folowing this, there was an hour-long session with ex-cricketer and coach, Rahul Dravid, on the future of cricket at the Olympics. Talking about the lavish food spread over there, India House provided a range of Indian delicacies, including biryani, mutton curry, curd rice, several desserts, chaats and many more.
