Nita Ambani Wears 200-Year-Old Pendant Laden With Rubies, Pearls And Emeralds, For Trump's Reception

Nita Ambani arrived at the private reception before the swearing-in of Donald Trump as the president of the USA. For the esteemed event, the businesswoman and philanthropist was draped in elegance and rich Indian tradition. Nita looked resplendent in a traditional custom-made Kanchipuram silk saree designed by Swadesh. For the unversed, Swadesh is a Reliance Foundation initiative dedicated to supporting Indian arts and crafts. Master artisans craft these sarees with the purpose of showcasing the unparalleled beauty of Indian craftsmanship.

Nita Amabani’s saree for Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony was no different. National Award-winning master artisan B. Krishnamoorthy delved into meticulous research before getting to work crafting the masterpiece, which features over 100 traditional motifs. The chosen symbols, such as the Mayil (symbolising immortality and divinity), the Iruthalaipakshi (a double-headed eagle representing Lord Vishnu), and the mythical Sorgavasal animal trails (embodying the charm of India’s rich folklore), among others, each held a special significance. 

The motifs on Nita Ambani’s saree were heavily inspired by the spiritual and historical core of Kanchipuram’s grand temples. She added a contemporary touch to the richly traditional ensemble with a Manish Malhotra velvet blouse featuring a built-up neckline and intricate beadwork along the sleeve hem. The combination exuded pure timelessness and sophistication.

However, it was just Nita Ambani’s six yards of pure grace that caught everyone’s attention. The billionairess also carried the soul of India to the global stage as she complemented her ensemble with 18th-century heritage Indian jewellery. Her statement neckpiece featured emerald beads and a magnificent 200-year-old rare Indian pendant crafted in Southern India. 

The parrot-shaped treasure featured a mix of precious gemstones like emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and pearls, which were set in gold Kundan technique with red and green enamel. Nita Ambani’s stunning ensemble spotlighted the richness and glory of Indian traditions while honouring local artisans and celebrating their unparalleled craftsmanship.

Before the big day of Donald Trump's much-awaited swearing-in ceremony on January 20, 2025, a grand candlelit pre-swearing-in dinner was hosted for him in Washington DC. Several important personalities and entrepreneurs from around the world marked their presence at the event, including Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife and Reliance Foundation Chairman Nita Ambani. The couple was all smiles as they posed with the President-elect for some historic pictures.

Apart from the Republican leader, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani were seen talking with Real estate entrepreneur Kalpesh Mehta at the dinner. Kalpesh is the founder of Tribeca Developers, and his company has partnered with Donald Trump in the real estate sector to develop 10 Trump Towers in India. The latter himself shared the pictures from the event and penned:

"Fun night with Nita and Mukesh Ambani at the inaugural event for President Trump."
