Nimma Loharka was a famous Punjabi lyricist, and in a piece of sad news, he passed away at the age of 48. He was born in Amritsar, and Nimma's original name was Nirmal Singh. According to a report by TellyChakkar, Nimma had penned lyrics for more than 150 singers. It featured Punjab's top stars, including Diljit Dosanjh, Amrinder Gill, and Malkit Singh. Nimma was known for his lyrics such as, "Dil ditta nai si thokran lawan vaste" along with “Ki samjawan ehna nain kamleyan nu".

Nimma Loharka had penned more than 500 songs, and his lyrics had earned him widespread acclaim. For Diljit Dosanjh, he had written famous tracks such as Gidha and also Daka. According to a report by the publication, Nimma was suffering from a prolonged illness and had been unwell for many days. His last rites reportedly will take place at his home village, and this news has already left the Punjabi music industry torn to pieces.

Nimma Loharka's journey from a humble farming background to becoming a celebrated lyricist in itself is a testament to his dedication and talent. His legacy will inspire generations across the music industry in Punjab. For the unversed, Nimma was born on March 24, 1977, back in the Loharka village. His family was from a farming background, and he had written songs for Ravinder Grewal, Feroz Khan, Nachhatar Gill, Harbhajan Shera, and Inderjit Nikku.

Nimma Loharka did not have formal training in Punjabi music

According to a report by News24, Nimma's interest in writing started off when he was in class 4. This was because Nimma was kind of inspired by his grandfather's adoration for Punjabi stories. He did not have any formal training but had written his first well-known song, named Nankane Vall Jande Rahiyo, for a school play back in class 10. The success of the same then motivated Nimma to take music as his career.

Nimma Loharka had faced financial struggles

Nimma Loharka reportedly had faced financial issues reportedly. Well, he had helped many stars, but there were only a handful who had actually stood by him. He was reportedly disappointed that people in the industry forgot him, even though Nimma stood by them when they needed him. Nimma has left behind his son, who is also a songwriter. The lyricist loved Punjabi folktales, which influenced him because of the love shown by his grandfather.

Nimma in 1994 then shifted his base to Ludhiana, where he had mastered the skills of Punjabi music. He had also spent time in Bharowal, which is the village of Didar Sandhu, a folk singer who had helped him develop his singing skills. It was at this time that Nimma had been given the nickname, Nimma Loharka. For the unversed, Nimma was his pet name, and Loharka was the name of his village.

Nimma Loharka's songs had emotional themes

Nimma, according to an interview by PTC News, shared that his financial woes had not reduced. This was because, due to the rise of gun culture and gangster themed music, he had lost an array of buyers. It was something that Nimma had regretted very closely. Nimma had often expressed disappointment he had faced in the industry and shared of how he had stopped getting buyers for his songs. This was because of the rise of gun culture.
