The abrupt end of a marriage can leave you traumatised, especially when it is forced upon you! No matter whether it is a mutual decision or a forced one-sided verdict, a divorce is the end of a relationship. While nowadays people try to end things on a good note, there was a time when it was considered the end of one's world. A separation is always considered a bad thing and the social stigma surrounding it can take a toll on any sane mind. And Bollywood actress, Neliima Azeem had gone through a similar phase when she had parted ways from ex-husband, Pankaj Kapur. For those who don't know, Neliima Azeem had three failed marriages. She had first tied the knot with Pankaj Kapur and had gotten blessed with Shahid Kapoor. Later, she had married Rajesh Khattar and was blessed with another son, Ishaan Khatter. However, things went downhill for the ex-couple and they had parted ways in 2001 and she had then married Ustad Raza Ali Khan. We remember how once in a media interaction, her son, Ishaan had talked about how he had seen his mother struggle. He had said that he was very young when his parents had separated, and later, his mother remarried. The actor had lived with his stepfather for six-years. Then, they had separated and he had seen his mother go through two broken marriages and her struggle to keep things together.

Recently, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Neliima Azeem talked about her first marriage with Pankaj Kapur and how things went downhill for her. She shared that it wasn't her decision and said, "I would like to say that I didn't decide to separate. It's a fact. He moved on and it was a difficult thing for me to stomach but he also had his reasons. We had been friends for a long time. I think I was 15 years old when I became friends with him. He had very good reasons and I understood it. When there's a break-up, which is called divorce, it is painful for both. There was a lot of friendship and attachment but there was heartbreak. It's alright. He's very well settled with his family today and I wish him well." (Also Read: Lisa Haydon Celebrates Her Elder Son, Zack's Third Birthday, Fulfils His Dream Of Meeting Spider Man)
She further added, "After that, I had my own journey which was all about picking myself up and I had my friends and family to support. I had my cousins and my guru Pt. Birju Maharaj. But most of all, I had Shahid. He gave me an insurmountable belief in life. I was young so I was able to do it again. It took time though, it took me about a couple of years, but then I was fine."
In the same interview, Neliima shared how Shahid wanted a sibling and literally forced her to have another baby. The actress shared, "It was Shahid who wanted me to have a child again. He was 14 and we (she and Rajesh Khatter) were well settled with our lives. I was happily working and the thought of having a baby again never crossed my mind. But Shahid specifically wanted a brother. I have my own brother so I knew what he meant. You can get married and have partners but your brother is the only one with your DNA after your parents aren't there with you. So I remember I wanted a girl and I couldn't have promised Shahid a brother. But my doctor, after Ishaan was born, didn't congratulate us first. She said, "Congratulations to Shahid. He's got his baby brother."

She further recalled how Shahid had done a full mad dance after the birth of Ishaan. She said, "After Ishaan was born, Shahid came to Yari Road where we used to stay, and went to the next gully where he played with his friends and did a full mad dance. He was so happy."
