After a long sabbatical, Neetu Kapoor is back on the silver screens with the comedy flick, Jug Jugg Jeeyo. In many previous interviews, the actress has said that her comeback to acting has helped her to regain the confidence that she had lost after the death of her husband, Rishi Kapoor. Now, in a recent interview, Neetu revealed whether her son, Ranbir Kapoor is a ‘joru ka gulam’ and shared how the Brahmastra actor balances his love between her and his wife, Alia Bhatt.
For the unversed, it was on April 14, 2022, when the most talked-about couple of B-town, Alia and Ranbir had tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the latter’s house in Vastu. The duo had donned pristine ivory-hued Sabyasachi ensemble and had looked nothing short of a fairy tale. During their marriage festivities, Alia’s saasu maa, Neetu Kapoor was seen enjoying herself the most.

In a heartfelt conversation with The Indian Express, Neetu Kapoor expressed how happy she is now as her dearest son, Ranbir Kapoor is a married man. Talking about her bond with bahu, Alia Bhatt, Neetu shared that she is an ‘uncorrupted’ human being, and if the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law gets strained, it's the fault of the husband. She further added how she would not like it if Ranbir turns a complete joru ka gulam. In her words:
“People asked me how will be my relationship with Alia, and it will be be the same as it was for me and my mother-in-law. Alia is a lovely person. She is a beautiful, simple, uncorrupted human being. So, I feel the relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is the husband’s fault. Because you love your mother so much, and jab tum joru ka gulaam ban jaate ho na, fir maa ko problem hoti hai. If you balance your love for your mother and your wife, it is always nicer.”
Further in the conversation, Neetu was asked if Ranbir’s behaviour had changed after his marriage to Alia. Answering this, the doting mommy says that Ranbir is an intelligent man and doesn't do ‘mom mom’ all the time, but rings her once every five days. Neetu can be quoted as saying:
“I am not getting this feeling because my son is a very intelligent man, he balances his love. He doesn’t go all ‘mom mom mom,’ he many call me once in five days and ask, ‘aap thik ho na?’. For him to ask me this is enough.”

Neetu Kapoor, who had left the Hindi film industry at the peak of her career after her marriage to Rishi Kapoor, also talked about her special relationship with her late saasu maa, Krishna Raj Kapoor. Neetu said that she misses Krishna more than her husband, Rishi. She stated:
“Someone was asking me, how I managed to have such a good relationship with my mother-in-law. Today I miss my mother-in-law the maximum. I miss her more than my husband. I miss my husband because I don’t have a companion. I miss how we both used to go out for lunches, we’d travel. Now whom do I make these plans with. But my relationship with my mother-in-law was outstanding. I would call her and go, ‘your son said this, did that’ and she would say, ‘your husband…,’ and I’d say ‘woh tumhara beta hai…,’ and we used to fight like that.”
On the work front, Neetu Kapoor is seen as a dance reality show judge, Dance Deewane Juniours.
