On April 1, 2021, Alia Bhatt had tested positive for COVID-19, shortly after her beau, Ranbir Kapoor had recovered from the same. Alia Bhatt had penned a note on her IG stories informing her fans about her diagnosis. For the uninitiated, Ranbir Kapoor had contracted the deadly virus a few weeks ago and was quarantined. The actor, however, had tested negative shortly after.

Alia Bhatt's beau, Ranbir Kapoor's sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni had sent love to her future bhabhi, Alia Bhatt, as she had posted a throwback picture with her on her IG stories. In the picture, we could see Riddhima, her mother, Neetu Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and her sister, Shaheen Bhatt, all smiling for the camera. Atop the picture, Riddhima had written, "#throwback", followed by red heart emojis.
Alia Bhatt is currently in isolation at her home. The actress posted a selfie with her stuffed toy on her IG handle and captioned it as "One day at a time." She received lots of love and 'get well soon' wishes on her post. While Ranbir Kapoor's mom, Neetu Kapoor dropped heart emojis, her daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni wrote, "Cuteness" on her future bhabhi's picture followed by heart emojis.
Alia Bhatt’s COVID positive report had scared her mother, Soni Razdan. Taking to her Twitter handle, Soni Razdan had expressed her worrisome thoughts. In her tweet, she had written, "This is no ordinary wave ...it’s everywhere. In our houses, in our hair. I’m getting a bit of a scare. It’s no ordinary wave... it’s everywhere ... don’t know how we shall fare .. how do we begin to care... about so many here and there... it’s everywhere, it’s everywhere." She had also responded to the journalist, Rana Ayyub's tweet on how almost every 5th person she knows in Mumbai is testing positive for the virus.

In an interview with the Bombay Times, Alia Bhatt's mother, Soni Razdan had shared a health update of her daughter and said, "I am in touch with her, it’s just that I try not to call her too many times. In the last few days, I have called her in the morning to check on her. I don’t want to burden her with constant calls, because if I keep doing that, it will stress her out." She had further revealed that she has been texting her with diet tips and what she should eat amidst it, and had said, "I sent her messages suggesting what she should eat, which is simple and light food. So, she is sorted now as far as her food is concerned. Since Alia has been shooting, she has been taking COVID tests regularly. She has been extremely cautious, so when it happened, it was detected immediately."
Alia is a proud momma's girl and shares a beautiful bond with her mum, Soni. Earlier, in an interview with India Today, Soni had revealed how Alia was as a kid. She had shared, "Alia was a very obedient child, the only thing she was fussy about was what dress she wore. I would have to give her choices and she would pick her dress out knowing very well exactly what she wanted to wear. Alia was always a happy go lucky child, it is a wonderful feeling to witness how big of a star she has become now. We are all quite charmed by what she is managing to do. She is doing it well and what more can one ask."
