Neelam and Govinda had worked in 14 films together and in real life, he was head-over-heels-in-love with her. It had started with IIzaam in 1986 as Neelam and Govinda’s chemistry was loved by all in the film and had started a great friendship between them. However, it was Govinda, who had fallen in love with her as he was smitten by Neelam's beauty, when he had first seen her. Govinda knew that they were complete opposites as Neelam was a foreign return, and he was a desi munda. Neelam also shared bumping into Govinda once or twice at parties earlier, and said, “Govinda and I met after a very long time. We did many films together but I really didn't know that we were so popular as a jodi. We haven't kept in touch per se, but sometimes bumped into each other at a party or two. We don't have common friends, we have no commonalities. It was great meeting him after so many years." When asked if she knew Govinda was also coming for the show, she replied, "No, I did not. I eventually said 'yes' to them and only after that, I learnt that Govinda had also been invited. Post that, I knew that it would be amazing."
