Popular Bollywood actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has made a name for himself with his versatile on-screen performances. Over the years, the 50-year-old actor has been a part of popular Hindi films like Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Kahaani, Gangs Of Wasseypur, Badlapur, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and many more. Apart from acting, Nawazuddin has a keen interest in architecture. During a recent interview, the actor revealed that he designed his abode.

While conversing with the Film Companion, Nawazuddin talked about his duplex, ‘Nawab’, named in memory of his late father. The actor opened a huge wooden door and welcomed the interviewer to his home, which, at first glance, seemed a lot like a traditional house. Nawazuddin shared that he built this house after the success of his popular crime thriller series, Sacred Games. He revealed that he demolished the property after purchasing it and then built it according to his wish.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui shares that he isn’t interested in buying houses or cars, but is keen on designing it

Painted in the soothing hues of white and blue and adorned with various plants outside, the interiors of Nawazuddin’s home feature several paintings and numerous books. In the conversation, the 50-year-old discussed that he never dreamt of purchasing a house or car. However, as he had studied architecture and aesthetics during his time at the National School of Drama, the actor shared that his interest in designing his home was piqued for this reason. In his words:

“The entire design is mine. It’s not like a dream house. I never dreamt of having a house. Honestly, I never had any dreams of having houses or cars. As I have studied design, at the National School of Drama, we have studied architecture and aesthetics, so I have a little sense of designing. So, I started getting interested in it, then I did not compromise on anything.”

Nawazuddin further revealed that he would sketch the pillars and arches of his home and personally order all the necessary items for construction. The actor also talked about various home decor. He mentioned that the posters on his wall signify all the plays he did earlier. Nawazuddin shared that the corridors of NSD, too, had posters of various plays on the wall. Hence, to stay connected to the theatre, he chose that.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui reveals which is the peaceful corner of his home

In the same conversation, the actor also revealed that he doesn’t like sticking his pictures on his wall. As the interview progressed, Nawazuddin shared various aspects of his professional life and gave a sneak peek into his home. The dining area is more formal but subtle, with grey and wooden chairs and sheer white drapes, while the living room is timeless and cosy with rustic furnishings. He shared that his terrace, featuring glass doors and marble floors, has been the most peaceful corner of his home.
