On November 1, 2025, a Facebook post by a page named Film Fanatics claimed that Natalia and Charlie were engaged and stated that it was official. The page also reported that Charlie had proposed to the actress in a place with Stranger Things connection, the show where they first met. Hawkins, the town where the story takes place, was subtly hinted at. The post made big claims about Natalia and Charlie's marriage, which was allegedly to take place soon. Part of the note read:

"IT’S OFFICIAL — NATALIA DYER & CHARLIE HEATON ARE ENGAGED! After years of keeping their love behind the curtain, the Stranger Things duo has finally taken the next big step — they’re getting married! From secret smiles on set to quiet moments away from the spotlight, their love story that began in 2016 has now reached its most heartwarming twist yet. But here’s the part that has fans losing their minds — Charlie’s proposal happened at a place deeply connected to their Stranger Things journey!"

Recently, a few outlets have picked up the viral post and reported on Natalia and Charlie's alleged engagement. However, there is no truth behind the claims. Although the post says it is 'official', none of the actual official or authorised parties involved have said anything about a marriage proposal. Neither the couple nor any of the insider sources close to them have hinted whether the two are engaged. For now, the information that Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton are engaged is unsubstantiated and, hence, false. 

Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton's love story as part of the Stranger Things star cast 

Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton met in 2015 on the set of Stranger Things Season 1 and fell in love just as their characters did in the show. However, the co-creator of the Netflix series, Matt Duffer, shared with GQ that sparks were flying between the two during a chemistry read, even before the shooting had started. After the first season premiered and became a hit, Natalia and Charlie were spotted together, hanging out behind the scenes. This led to speculations about whether 'Nancy' and 'Jonathan' were dating in real life, too. 

In 2017, after dating rumours had followed the pair for around a year, Natalia and Charlie confirmed their relationship after stepping to the Fashion Awards in London together.
