Nassar, born Muhammad Hanif, is an Indian actor, director, producer, dubbing artist, singer and politician. He works predominantly in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. However, he has also done a few Kannada, English, Hindi and Bengali films as well. Nassar is a well-respected person and has three sons, the eldest being, Abdul Asan Faizal.

Nassar opens up about his son, Faisal's life-altering accident

Humans' faith in a higher power and miracles is what gives them hope in the darkest of times. While it's possible to explain every miracle with science, having faith that there is something beyond comprehension which can give comfort to humanity. A similar miracle happened with the Indian actor-producer-politician, Nassar when his son, Faisal, met with a life-threatening accident and his recovery involved the son’s love for his matinee idol, Vijay. In a recent podcast with OMG, Nasaar opened up about the accident that took place in 2014 and shared:

"He was unconscious for over 14 days, was in a coma, and we even took him to Singapore for treatment. When he regained consciousness for the first time, he didn’t say ‘Amma’ or ‘Appa’. The first word he said was ‘Vijay.’ I even teased him about dressing up like Vijay, walking, and even dancing like Vijay. He used to brush it off, saying it was just a reflection of his age."

Nasaar shares how his son, Faisal, said Vijay's name right after he woke up

In the same conversation, Nassar revealed that when Faisal woke up and said Vijay’s name, he had assumed it was one of his son’s friends. He shared that they were extremely happy that his son still had his memory. However, it was his wife, Kameela, who figured that their son was talking about something else. He further added that they started showing him movies and songs that had Vijay to help Faisal recollect his memory. Nassar stated: 

"We were very happy that he still had his memory. We called up his friend to come meet him. Later, my wife (psychologist and politician) Kameela felt he was telling something else. She showed him the picture of Vijay, and his eyes brightened."

Nassar continued the conversation and shared that when Vijay came to know of his son, Faisal, he came to meet him. He revealed that despite being told that Vijay didn't have to come, he visited the former's son several times. The actor even brought a ukulele for the politician's son as a gift and reassured him that there would be a day Faisal would get to play it. He stated:

"After Vijay came to know about this, he wanted to come and meet Faisal. In fact, we told him he didn’t have to do it, but he wanted to come home. He visited Faisal many times and spent quality time with my son. There is no doubt that Vijay has played an important role in my son’s life…my life too."
