Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing from her Tucson home in Arizona since January 31, 2026. Her kidnapping case has now got national attention, after an array of weird occurrences took place after a weird pizza delivery came to her house. Now, in the ongoing investigation, a new controversy has emerged centring on self-proclaimed investigator, Jonathan Lee Riches.
Well, investigators are continuously searching for Nancy Guthrie. Authorities had earlier revealed a lead based on the clipping. It showed a potential subject who was trying to interfere with the doorbell camera, which was also on the morning Nancy went missing. A video had circulated on social media showing an unknown person wearing a grey t-shirt and black pants carrying a large black bag and walking towards the door. Well, the authorities have earlier urged privacy regarding Nancy Guthrie's investigation. However, who is Jonathan Lee Riches, who has been linked to the viral pizza delivery incident in the Nancy Guthrie case?

Well, authorities had earlier shown a clip of a Domino's deliveryman trying to deliver a pizza to the front door of Nancy Guthrie's home. The driver was seen taking many pizza boxes, reportedly up to Nancy Guthrie's house, who is the mom of Today TV host, Savannah Guthrie. Well, a journalist named Ford Hatchett revealed that the pizza delivery was for an independent journalist out here who is live-streaming. The name that emerged was of Jonathan Lee Riches, and a report by the Guardian revealed that a viewer had ordered pizzas for him. The tweet mentioned by Ford read:
"Never seen something quite like this. A Domino’s delivery driver just walked all the way up to Nancy Guthrie’s front door trying to deliver a pizza. Walking out now. Believe it was intended for someone in the media along the street."

The pizza deliveryman was first reportedly not spotted by the deputy on duty. Netizens have been angry with Jonathan, who lives-streams on YouTube under the name @JLRINVESTIGATES. An angry netizen, seeing pizza being delivered at Nancy Guthrie's home, wrote about how he is ruining cases and the chances of finding a poor old lady left and right. Users also commented, "JLR loves being in the middle of drama. The kidnapper dressed as a Domino's guy. When infotainment becomes entertainment, you can bet the YouTube grifters eat well."

Users had mixed reactions as one wrote, "He wasn't very bright..when he was finally alerted to the fact this was the Guthrie cri**e scene and the pizza was for JLR... he was shocked LOL .. Like what? Didn't you notice all the news vehicles? And the sheriff didn't even notice lol. It was for JLR Investigates. One of his viewers from Oregon ordered it for him without his knowledge. The delivery guy said he had no idea which house he had just walked up to. It was all on his livestream." Another user wrote, "Anyone following this psyop has obviously not learned a thing over the last decade. Where was the sheriff department to stop this from happening did they not pay any attention to the cr**e scene as usual."

Jonathan Lee Riches, earlier, reportedly had to go to jail for wire fraud and has filed more than 4,000 lawsuits, all meritless, according to a Guardian report. He is the owner of JLR Investigates, which is his YouTube channel with over 540,000 subscribers. Jonathan is known for showcasing live cri**nal trials while his videos are known to be all things sensationalism and clickbaity, deceiving his fans. Jonathan Lee Riches has claimed to be independently investigating the Nancy Guthrie missing-person case. However, discussions about how he has been providing misleading tips and acting like a wannabe reporter are circulating. A YouTuber, seeing his live stream outside Nancy Guthrie's home, wrote of not believing that Nancy's family was involved. The netizen spoke about the fact that it cannot be speculated that Nancy was rich, as she lived in a big house.

According to the latest video posted by Jonathan on his YouTube handle, the title of the clip reads, "Breaking manhunt. Nancy Guthrie kidnapping live." In the clips, he is often shown standing outside Nancy's home or observing police operations. He has given misleading leads in his clips, such as an airlift to a hospital with a tow truck, which is not related to the case. The Pima County Sheriff's Department, in a statement, had warned him and the media in general, saying:
"We can’t believe we have to say this, but media on scene: please do not order food delivery to a crime scene address. This interferes with an active investigation. Please also respect private property laws. Do not order food to a crime scene and it will disrupt active police work."
