The search for Nancy Guthrie reached its fourth week, without any hopeful news regarding the 84-year-old's survival. The Pima County police and the FBI are looking at the case with priority, suspecting kidnapping. After days of investigation, they found blood trails, five ransom notes, gloves of a masked intruder of Nancy's house and also a doorcam video of the same person. Although authorities didn't name any suspects, public scrutiny of Nancy's daughter, Annie, and son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, remains. Amid that, viral claims regarding the couple having a share in Nancy's alleged insurance policy have surfaced.
Current discussions around Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping case centre around the possibility of the 84-year-old having a hefty life insurance policy to her name. The curiosity and chatter mostly stemmed from Nancy living alone in her USD 1 million Tucson, Arizona home and the repeated ransom demands by her abductors. As of now, five ransom notes seeking USD 6 million in Bitcoin have been received by media outlets like TMZ. These point to the possibility of money being the motive behind Nancy's kidnapping.

The money motive led the public to speculate that Savannah Guthrie's mother might have had a lucrative insurance policy, potentially boosting ransom demands. Additionally, the authorities mentioned that the kidnapping of older adults like Nancy was very rare in recent times, solidifying the money motive theory. Former FBI supervisor, James Gagliano, stated that such kidnappings are typically for "profit or revenge."

"I don't remember if it was on social media or tv but I did hear a policy was taken out I think a week before she went missing but they didn't say who the beneficiary was," a fan wrote. While the public focus is on the possibility of Nancy life insurance policy being the cause of her abduction, there is no verified public record regarding the same. An X (formerly Twitter) user commented, "this whole thing with nancy guthrie is suspicious to me, the daughter and her husband should be questioned first and foremost, did someone actually see nancy get out of their car? What if nancy has a big life insurance policy? The daughter would get a cut of it ?"

The public thinks Nancy Guthrie's daughter, Annie, might be a beneficiary of her mother's alleged insurance policy, as she and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, have been linked to the kidnapping. The speculation began after NewsNation journalist, Ashleigh Banfield claimed on her podcast that Tommaso was a "prime suspect," citing an unverified source. Notably, Annie and Tommaso were the last people to see Nancy before she disappeared from her Tucson home. Tommaso reportedly drove Nancy home after a family dinner on Saturday night, ET, and confirmed she was safely inside at approximately 9:30 p.m.
