Nagarjuna Reveals If His Equation With Samantha Has Changed, 'Separation Left Chay Very Depressed..'

Nagarjuna Akkineni's son, Naga Chaitanya, has found love again and got engaged to his lover, Sobhita Dhulipala. The duo had an intimate engagement ceremony on August 8, 2024, at Nagarjuna's residence in Hyderabad. The doting father announced the good news with a heartfelt post on social media for Chaitanya and Sobhita, sending their fans into a collective meltdown. Now, Nagarjuna shared some inside details about the hurried engagement.

Nagarjuna reveals Chaitanya has found happiness again

In an interview with Times Now, Nagarjuna was asked how the engagement went and whether his son, Naga Chaitanya, was happy. Responding to it, the doting father revealed that Chay is very happy after a long time, as his separation from his ex-wife, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, made him very depressed. He added that Sobhita and Chay make a wonderful couple, and they love each other dearly. In his words:

"It went very very well. Chay has found happiness again. He is very happy. So am I! It has not been an easy time for Chay or the family. The separation from Samantha left him very depressed. My boy doesn't show his feelings to anyone. But I knew he was unhappy. To see him smile again...Sobhita and Chay make a wonderful couple. They love each other dearly."

Nagarjuna shares the details about the engagement

Nagarjuna further revealed who all attended Chaitanya and Sobhita's engagement and stated that only the immediate family graced the event. The guests included his family, his wife, Amala, his ex-wife, and Sobhita's parents and sister. Revealing why they chose August 8, 2024, for the ceremony, Nagarjuna said:

"Only the immediate family was there. Sobhita's parents and sister. Chay's mother was there, of course. My wife, Amala, was there. That's it. We chose this day because it is very auspicious. Both families consulted the Nakshatras, and when we were told August 8 was a very auspicious day, we decided to go ahead with it."

Nagarjuna talks about Chay and Sobhita's wedding

In the same interview, the veteran actor was asked when is Chay and Sobhita's wedding. To this, he mentioned that the marriage will happen soon, but not immediately. Nagarjuna also revealed that they chose to have a hurried engagement because it was an auspicious day and added:

"Not immediately, Subhash. Like I told you, we chose to have a hurried engagement because it was an auspicious day, and since Chay and Sobhita are very sure that they want to marry, we said, 'Let's do it'!"

Nagarjuna reveals he has known Sobhita Dhulipala before Chaitanya

Nagarjuna also talked about his equation with Sobhita Dhulipala and revealed whether he gets along with his to-be-daughter-in-law. He revealed that while Chay got to know Sobhita two years ago, he has known her for six years. The actor shared that Sobhita is a very well-informed girl and said:

"Very much so. In fact, you will be surprised to know that I know her from long before Chay (laughs). Yes! Chay got to know Sobhita two years ago. But I have known her for six years. I saw her in Adivi Sesh's film Goodachari and liked her work. I told her that. From then on, we have had many discussions on cinema, life, and philosophy. Sobhita is a very well-informed girl."

Nagarjuna reveals he still considers Chaitanya's ex-wife, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, his daughter

Further in the interview, Nagarjuna was asked about his closeness to Chaitanya's ex-wife, Samantha Ruth Prabhu. For the unversed, when Chay married Samantha, Nagarjuna had said she was more like a daughter than a daughter-in-law. Reflecting on the same, the veteran actor revealed that his equation with Samantha remains unchanged to date and said:

"Yes, of course. That remains unaltered. What happens between a couple is an entirely different matter."

Nagarjuna prays that Chaitanya and Sobhita's love lasts forever

Nagarjuna also shared that Sobhita's family really like Chay as the latter is a gem of a boy, who deserves happiness in life. In the concluding statement, he asked everyone to pray for Chaitanya and Sobhita to be happy together forever. He said:

"This is such a happy occasion for the family and for Sobhita's family, they really like Chay. Can't blame them. My son is a gem of a boy. He deserves happiness. I am very proud that both my sons have turned out to be fine men. Pray for Chay and Sobhita to be happy together forever. I know they love each other deeply. Pray that the love remains."
