Nagarjuna Opens Up About His Bond With Daughter-In-Law, Sobhita, 'A Nice Relationship, It's Like...'

Nagarjuna is one of the most prominent figures in the regional cinema industry. Coming to his personal life, Nagarjuna is a family man who has passed on his legacy to his two children, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil. For the unversed, Nagarjuna welcomed his first child, Naga Chaitanya, with his first wife, Lakshmi Daggubati and welcomed his second child, Akhil, with his present wife, Amala. Over the years, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil have made their name in the industry. However, it was their personal life that gained a lot of limelight. Last year, in December 2024, Chay tied the knot with Sobhita Dhulipala, and this year in June 2025, Akhil got married to Zainab Ravdjee.

Nagarjuna opens up about his bond with daughter-in-law, Sobhita Dhulipala

In a recent interview with The Times of India, Nagarjuna shed light on the equation he shares with his daughter-in-law, Sobhita Dhulipala. The superstar shared that they often talk about books and music. Nagarjuna mentioned that both he and Sobhita have a keen interest in gardening, so they have long conversations over it. Reflecting on the bond he shares with Sobhita, he calls her his daughter. Nagarjuna also mentioned Zainab Ravjdee and referred to her as his daughter. In his words:

"She’s just fantastic. We talk about books and music. Right now, she wants to grow a garden in Naga’s house. I have a keen interest in gardening too, so we talk a lot about it. It’s a very nice relationship, and it’s like having a daughter at home. We have two daughters now — Zainab (Akhil’s wife) and Sobhita."

When Nagarjuna revealed that he played cupid in Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita's relationship

In a 2024 interview with The Times of India, Nagarjuna revealed how he unknowingly played cupid in his elder son, Naga Chaitanya and actress, Sobhita Dhulipala’s love story. The actor shared that as he was highly impressed with Sobhita’s performance in the 2018 film, Goodachari, he immediately called her to appreciate her work. He then invited her to meet him the next time she comes to Hyderabad. During one such visit to his home, when the duo was engaged in a deep conversation about life and cinema, Naga Chaitanya walked in. According to Nagarjuna, it was the first time the two met. In his words:

"I invited her to meet me the next time she was in Hyderabad. She later came home to meet me, and we had some wonderful conversations — not just about films but life in general. Chaitanya happened to walk in during one of her visits, and that’s when they met for the first time if I remember correctly."

In the same interview, the veteran actor also expressed his admiration for Sobhita's hard work and her dedication. He praised her for being a talented actress and shared that she always remained grounded and true to her craft. Further in the interview, Nagarjuna mentioned that when he sees Chaitanya and Sobhita together, it brings him great happiness. For the uninitiated, on December 4, 2024, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita tied the knot in a traditional Telugu wedding at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad, in the presence of close friends and family. It was Nagarjuna who announced the wedding on his X handle (formerly Twitter) along with warm photos welcoming Sobhita into their family.
