South superstar Nagarjuna is counting the days until his son Naga Chaitanya's wedding to Sobhita Dhulipala. The highly anticipated wedding is set to happen on December 4, 2024, at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. Now, Nagarjuna opened up about the wedding preparations, which are in full swing, and revealed how the couple is looking into the entire arrangement.
In an interview with the Times Of India, Nagarjuna revealed that his would-be daughter-in-law, Sobhita's family, wanted a traditional Telugu wedding. This was because they wanted to reflect their rich cultural heritage and be connected to their roots. Both Sobhita and Chay's families are aligned on the preparation details, which are in full swing. Nagarjuna also revealed that his son never wanted a grand wedding like Sobhita. In his words:

"Chaitanya didn't want a big wedding; he and Sobhita both preferred a gathering of close family and friends. They told me to leave the arrangements to them. They wanted to do it their way, and honestly, it was a huge relief! I said, please do."
The wedding list will include 300-400 family members, closest friends and colleagues. Nagarjuna also revealed that Sobhita's parents were clear about wanting to include all the rituals, and he was on the same page as them. He emphasised that the wedding would be lovely, simple, and heartfelt, like the couple.
Wedding bells are soon ringing for Sobhita and Chay, who dated for two years reportedly and got engaged on August 8, 2024. In an earlier interview with Galataa India, Sobhita said her engagement ceremony was pretty relaxing. She did not have many dreams or expectations around the same. She wanted a simple, sweet, intimate, and warm ceremony, and it was everything she thought it would be. Sobhita believes that when beautiful things happen, she is engulfed by the moment. In the words of Sobhita:
"It was what it was meant to be and it was perfect. I always wanted to feel the motherhood experience. I was very clear about it. I always saw myself getting married."
Superstar Nagarjuna posted pictures from Sobhita's engagement ceremony with Naga Chaitanya. In his caption, he revealed the importance of August 8, 2024, which is connected to the number 8. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that August 8 was also the same date when Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Naga Chaitanya's former wife, proposed to him, and they both embarked on their love story. Nagarjuna also called Sobhita a lovely girl and said she is someone who lives life on her terms.

Chay was earlier married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu, but in 2021, they opted for separation. The couple was married for four years. Now, Chay and Sobhita had kept their dating life history under wraps for the longest time. A report by the Hindustan Times claimed they started dating in 2022 and went public with their relationship after their engagement in 2024. Chaitanya had also spoken about getting married and said marriage for him is about the people who mean a lot to him. It doesn’t have to be a big fat wedding, but people keeping up with the cultures and traditions in mind, so that’s how he wants it to be.
