Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala's hush-hush engagement left the entire nation talking about their affair. Soon, murmurs about Naga Chaitaya choosing his engagement date when his first wife, Samantha proposed him, irked netizens. However, let us inform you that it was just a rumour and there was no official confirmation. Recently, Naga Chaitanya's father, famous superstar, Nagarjuna talked about the hurried engagement of his son.
In an interview with Times Now, Nagarjuna was questioned about Naga Chaitanya's wedding date. To this, the superstar stated that there is no rush. However, they had a hurried engagement as August 8 was an auspicious day, and Chay and Sobhita had decided to marry each other, so the family agreed. He was quoted as saying:

"Not immediately, Subhash. Like I told you, we chose to have a hurried engagement because it was an auspicious day, and since Chay and Sobhita are very sure that they want to marry, we said, Let’s do it."

Nagarjuna further stated that he has known Sobhita since past six years. And Chaitanya got to know about her two years ago. The sueprstar lovingly talked about his future duaghter-in-law, and revealed that she is a very-well informed girl. He said:
"In fact, you will be surprised to know that I know her from long before Chay. Yes! Chay got to know Sobhita two years ago. But I have known her for six years. I saw her in Adivi Sesh’s film Goodachari and liked her work. I told her that. From then on, we have had many discussions on cinema, life, and philosophy. Sobhita is a very well-informed girl."
Let us inform you that it was not the couple, but Naga Chaitanya's father, Nagarjun, who broke the news about their engagement. He took his X handle, and shared photos of the soon-to-be married couple, and shared that at 9:42 in the morning, the couple's engagement ceremony was completed. He expressed excitement to welcome Sobhita to his family. He had written:
"We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless!"

For her engagement, Sobhita made sure to stick to her roots and wore a saree from the famous fashion designer, Manish Malhotra. It was sourced from the weaving communities of Andhra Pradesh. Sobhita looked pretty in Uppada silk drapes in the golden blush colour of a traditional temple flower. The bride-to-be accentuated her look with a gold neckchain, matar mala, and jhumkas. Subtle makeup with soft eyes, a bindi, and hair tied in a bun completed her look. On the other hand, Naga Chaitanya wore classic Pattu pancha, laalchi and kanduva, a three-piece set worn by the men of Andhra Pradesh.
For those who don't know, Samantha and Chaitanya fell in love on the sets of the 2010 romantic film,Ye Maaya Chesave. While Naga was shy, Samantha was outspoken, making them a perfect couple. They dated for five years and got married in 2017. However, their wedding was short-lived, and just four days before their fourth wedding anniversary, they parted ways.
