Naga Chaitanya Affectionately Calls His Wife, Sobhita Dhulipala 'Vizag Girl', Says, 'Fell In Love..'

Tollywood superstars, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala had an intimate wedding ceremony on December 4, 2024, at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. The newlyweds have had a ball of a time. The couple has always maintained a low-key profile about their relationship on Instagram. However, recently, Chay opened up about his marriage to Sobhita and narrated why he called her a 'Vizag girl'.

Chay was recently at Visakhapatnam to promote his next offering, Thandel. The Dhootha actor called his wife, Sobhita, affectionately 'Vizag ammay' meaning (Vizag girl). He also said that her roots of Vizag dominate his house. In Chay's words:

"Vizag is so close to my heart that I fell in love with a Vizag girl and married her. Now, there's a piece of Vizag in my home too. Even in my household, the ruling party is Vizag. So, brothers, I have a small request—Thandel should rock Vizag's box office; otherwise, I'll lose my honour at home. Please!"

The video went viral, and Chay was seen heaping praise on Sobhita. He was proud to talk about how he fell in love with Sobhita, called her a local girl from Vizag and was proud to have got married to her.

Sobhita and Chay's wedding was a fun-filled affair. Chay's father, Nagarjuna Akkineni had released the first snaps of the newly wedded pair. After completing all the pre and post-wedding rituals, the pair also took to their respective Instagram handles to share photos from their intimate wedding. The heartwarming snaps showed the pair pouring ghee in the havan, snippets from their varmala ceremony. It also showcased a few candid clicks from their wedding rituals, which was all things love and surreal.

When Naga Chaitanya shared he wanted a 'couple of kids' after marriage

The superstar came on his cousin, Rana Daggubati's show, The Rana Daggubati Show. Chay had expressed about his desire to get married and have kids as he aged like a fine wine. He had said:

"When I’m 50 years old, I want to be happily married with a couple of kids, maybe one or two. I’d love to take them racing and go-karting. And relive the special moments of my childhood.”

Days after the couple had a Telugu wedding, the duo visited Srisailam Sri Bhramarambha Mallikharjuna Swami temple to seek the blessings of the almighty. Nagarjuna accompanied Sobhita and Chay, and the trio was seen in their traditional best. Nagarjuna is very fond of Chay being settled with Sobhita. When he shared the first snaps of the pair, he penned a sweet note that spoke about welcoming his daughter-in-law. It read:

"Watching Sobhita and Chay begin this beautiful chapter together has been a special and emotional moment for me.  Congratulations to my beloved Chay, and welcome to the family dear Sobhita-you've already brought so much happiness into our lives."

In his post, Nagarjuna also mentioned that the wedding celebrations held even deeper meaning as they unfolded under the blessings of ANR Garu's statue, installed to mark his centenary year. It felt as if his love and guidance were present with the family.
