Remember the 18-year-old girl in Munna Bhai MBBS who became a sensation with her item number, "Dekh Le"? However, she was rising in her career when she met with a terrible accident at home, which became a death threat to her glorious journey in the entertainment world.
For Mumait, her Bollywood journey started at 13 years of age, and by 18, she rose to nationwide fame with Munna Bhai MBBS' song. Later, she got multiple offers in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada films. She played bold roles and cemented herself as a s*x symbol with her number of item numbers, but Mumait disappeared from the entertainment industry. Mumbai revealed that she met with a serious accident at home, which damaged her nerves in her brain, and she slipped into a coma for 15 days. She started having episodes of seizures. It soon felt like a career death sentence. She said:
"I didn’t leave the industry. I had an accident. Five nerves in my brain burst. Doctors told me not to work for at least seven years—even lifting anything was impossible. I was on medication for seizures, which gained a lot of weight. God made me Mumait Khan, and he himself put a full stop to it. I accepted it. I used those seven years to self-study."

She revealed that those seven years were a forced pause in her life. But she made sure to work through it. Her mother financially supported her, while she used the time to heal. She added that her mother made sure to keep her happy. Mumait revealed that it was during that phase she realised that she loves hair and makeup apart from acting. She was quoted as saying:
"My mom took care of me financially during that gap. She kept me happy and maintained my lifestyle. Even today, before any big purchase, I call her and take her permission. She knows everything. I can’t randomly spend money. In those seven years, I had a lot of time to think about what I truly loved. I realised it was makeup and hair. In every film, every song, I never repeated a look. Every time, it was different."

Mumait revealed that soon she turned her hobby into WeLyke Academy and started giving training in hair and makeup in Hyderabad. She shared that in the South Indian industry, there is a big divide, and so, she would bring her own styling team from Mumbai whenever she signed the film. Hence, she wanted to change the beauty standards.

However, Mumait's journey to launch the academy wasn't an easy one; she was backed twice. She was supposed to launch the academy in 2023, but she had to start all over again. However, today, the academy is fully operational and offers a wide variety of courses with fees between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 50,000, and it can be easily availed with education loans. Talking about her personal life, at 40, Mumait is still single and it is by her choice as she is not looking to settle down. She had been in a serious relationship, but things didn't work out.
