Munawar Faruqui Shares Why He Had Private Wedding With Wife, Mehzabeen, 'Hum Dono Ko Nazar...'

Comedian and Influencer, Munawar Faruqui's personal life and controversies have been more popular than his career. Known for his sharp wit and honest attitude, the Bigg Boss 16 winner has a loyal fanbase who adore him, but some trolls constantly criticise him. The star, known for his chaotic love life, surprised his fans when he tied the knot with his wife and makeup artist, Mehzabeen Coatwala without any prior hint. At the same time, they have kept their personal lives under wraps and rarely share any insights from the same. In a recent interview, Munawar Faruqui shared the reason for this. 

Munawar Faruqui shares the reason behind his simple wedding with Mehzabeen Coatwala

The majority of celebrities prefer to tie the knot in an extravagant style, whether they keep it personal or private. But Munawar, a well-known comedian and Influencer, tied the knot in a simple surprise wedding ceremony with Mehzabeen Coatwala. He recently sat down for a religious podcast of Sana Khan and Mufti Anas, highlighting that one shouldn't take a dowry or spend huge amounts on weddings as he did during his turn. Recalling the same, he said:

"Dahej mat dijiye, don't overspend on weddings. I come across where people say that they need money for their child's wedding. I got married but kept it intimate. Mujhe ab dar lagta hai, agar kisi ki nazar lag gaye toh. Hum dono ko kisika nazar lag gaye toh. Mereko nazar se jitna darr lagta hain, utna maut se nahi hain. Aab aisa hi ho gaya hain.”

The comedian mentioned that the trend of expensive weddings and dowry has brought unnecessary burdens to families. It should be stopped. Sana's husband, Anas revealed that Munawar also helps his village people by keeping aside certain money for them. He further shared that Mehzabeen Coatwala has brought much-needed stability to his life. In his words: 

"This time, the atmosphere at home is different. I am very happy. Last Ramadan, I remember being exhausted, praying that I just want to settle down. I was tired of feeling lost. I wanted stability, and destiny gave me exactly what I needed. I am so blessed. I never imagined I would find a partner like this. My family is complete-she is like the perfect puzzle piece that was missing."

Munawar reveals he was admitted to the hospital two days before his wedding 

In the same conversation, Munawar revealed that he was hospitalised two days before his wedding to Mehzabeen Coatwala due to an intestinal infection. The doctors assured him that they would discharge him soon, but he was anxious because he had to tie the knot with Mehzabeen the next day. The doctors laughed and refused him but advised him not to eat anything, and he agreed. Recalling his determination to postpone his wedding, Munawar said: 

“Cancel or postpone hona nahi hota hai. Sabko lag raha tha ki kaise hoga? Mein bola hojayega, mein pahunch jaunga."

Munawar Faruqui and Mehzabeen Coatwala's love story 

When the world was surprised by Munawar Faruqui and Mehzabeen Coatwala, fans were curious about their love story. Later, it was revealed that Hina Khan, a close friend of Munawar Faruqui, played the cupid between them and introduced him to makeup artist, Mehzabeen Coatwala. They fell in love and tied the knot within a few months on May 26, 2024. Munawar was previously married to Jasmine and has a seven-year-old son, Mikael. Later, he dated Nazila Sitaishi and Ayesha Khan, and their relationships became controversial. On the other hand, Mehzabeen is a mother to an 11-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.
