While the cricket fans were all worried and looked tense, hoping for Rohit Sharma, captain of Mumbai Indians and his team to bag the trophy, one elderly lady earnestly praying for MI’s win had splashed on the screen, taking away all the attention. Her priorities were sorted as she was busy praying to the almighty for her team’s win.
Sitting with the MI’s dignitaries, clad in a blue-green saree, she was seen praying with her hands folded and her prayers were answered as the team had lifted the trophy. That lady was none other than Nita Ambani’s mother, Purnima Dalal. After that, she was hailed as ‘Prayer aunty’ on Twitter.
While everyone was hailing the elderly woman for making Mumbai Indian’s lift the trophy, people were also curious to know more about her. It was Abhishek Bachchan, who had identified her, announcing that she is Nita Ambani’s mother and people call her nani. He had tweeted:
“That is Mrs. Ambani’s mother. Popularly referred to as “nani”. The lucky charm.”
She has been spotted in the stands several times after that historic moment and has been often seen praying for her team with folded hands and closed eyes.

It was Purnima’s simplistic fashion and her never-ending smile that had blown away everyone’s heart. Well, all we can say is that beauty lies in their genes!
In an interview with the Vogue, Isha Ambani Piramal had shared how her grandparents (maternal and paternal) and her maasi, Mamta Dalal, had a huge role in bringing them up, Isha Ambani Piramal had said:
“I remember, whenever mom and I had fights, we’d call dad to resolve the issue. My mom was way stricter. If we wanted to bunk school, dad would be like “It’s no big deal” but mom would ensure we ate on time, studied hard and got our playtime as well. My grandparents (paternal and maternal) and my maasi played a huge role in bringing us up.”
We totally believe that Purnima Dalal is God’s favourite child and has a special connection with the almighty!
