Mukesh Ambani Ruined Anil Ambani's Proposal To Tina Munim, 'I Left The Room For A Few Minutes...'

Business tycoon, Anil Ambani and his wife, Tina Munim, are one of the sought-after couples in the entertainment and business world. Despite years of marriage, the duo is still head-over-heels in love with one another. Tina was at the peak of her career when she left the glamour world to marry Anil and settle as Mrs Ambani.

It was in February 1991 when Anil Ambani and Tina Munim were pronounced ‘Husband and Wife’. Their wedding was no less than a grand celebration. For the wedding, she turned into a traditional Gujarati bride and left everyone in awe of her look. Afterwards, they were blessed with two sons, Anmol Ambani and Anshul Ambani. 

Mukesh Ambani ruined Anil Ambani’s proposal for Tina Munim

Do you know Anil Ambani’s elder brother, Mukesh Ambani, ruined his brother’s proposal plan? Yes, you read that right. When Anil took Tina to meet his parents, Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben Ambani, little did she know that Anil was planning to propose to her. When Anil left the room for a few minutes, his brother, Mukesh Ambani ruined his proposal plan by spilling the beans to Tina.

However, soon after, his sister covered up for what Mukesh did. During a conversation with Simi Garewal on her chat show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Anil Ambani had shared details about the same. He had elaborated,

"Before I could do that (propose) I left the room for a few minutes, my brother asked Tina saying so how do you feel about that you are going to get engaged day after tomorrow." 

When Anil Ambani and Tina Munim called off their relationship

Tina and Anil met each other at a wedding, and he was smitten by her. After their occasional meeting, the two fell in love as they had a lot in common. However, the Ambani family was not in favour of an actress becoming their bahu. So, respecting their parents' decision, Anil and Tina called off their relationship and broke apart for four years.

As the duo ceased communication for more than four years, it was difficult for both of them to move on in their lives. While Anil was completely heartbroken, Tina, too, was sheerly pained and decided to channel her grief through work. She thereafter finished her pending films and flew off to the USA to pursue a course in interior design. After ups and downs in their relationship, Anil and Tina tied the knot in February 1991.

They have been each other’s pillar of strength and have supported one another through all the highs and lows. When Anil had turned 61, Tina penned a lovely birthday wish for him, which could be read as:

“To a wonderful husband who gives me unconditional support and love, an adoring father who gives our boys space to grow and learn, a devoted son who always puts family first. Happy birthday Anil. You are the wind beneath my wings.”
