A viral Reddit post claimed that Mrunal Thakur is secretly dating Indian international cricketer, Shreyas Iyer. This is not the first time that Shreyas, the 30-year-old cricketer, has been linked with a girl. However, according to the post on Reddit, the duo has been in a relationship for the last few months. The post claimed that the alleged couple are in their initial stage of the relationship. In the post, it was mentioned that the two are keeping their relationship a secret as they don’t want unnecessary attention from the media. Now, Mrunal Thakur seemed to have reacted to the claim, while Shreyas beautifully ignored it.

Mrunal Thakur seemingly reacts to the viral Reddit post

On November 30, 2025, Mrunal Thakur took to her Instagram Stories, and shared a funny video with her mom. In the clip, she was seen enjoying a champi from her mother and was seen laughing with her. However, it was a short note that grabbed our attention. She highlighted that while rumours surfaced online, she and her family just laughed it out. Then she mentioned that rumours are 'free PR'. While she didn’t address the dating claim, it was pretty clear that she gave the reaction after coming across the viral Reddit post. The note shared by her can be read as:

"They talk, we laugh. P.S. Rumours are free PR, and I love free stuff!"

When a source confirmed that Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are dating

Earlier, a report by News18 Showsha revealed that Dhanush and Mrunal have been rooting for each other amid their busy schedule. A source later confirmed to the portal, that the duo have been dating. The source mentioned that the relationship was new and the alleged couple had no plans to make their relationship official. A lot of speculation involving their dating circulated online when the two commented on each other’s posts. After the Sita Ramam actress followed Dhanush’s sisters, Dr. Karthika Karthik and Vimala Geetha, it further fuelled the speculations. The source was quoted as saying:

"Yes, it’s true that they are dating. But it’s too new, and they’ve no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they’re unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them as they’re quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts."

When Mrunal Thakur reacted to her dating rumours with Dhanush

According to a report by Only Kollywood, Mrunal, in an interview, addressed the dating rumours involving her and Dhanush. She called the actor a 'good friend'. She clarified that it was Ajay Devgn who invited Dhanush to the Son of Sardaar 2 premiere. For the uninitiated, there was a lot of buzz about Dhanush’s attendance at the premiere of Son of Sardaar 2 because the film featured Mrunal Thakur and Ajay Devgn. People also claimed that it was Mrunal who had invited Dhanush to the event. Mrunal was quoted as saying:

"Dhanush is just a good friend to me. I’m aware that a lot of news has been circulating about the two of us being linked together recently. I just found it funny when I saw it. Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event. No one should misunderstand that. It was Ajay Devgn who invited him."
