Mouni Roy, who is now famous for her gorgeous looks and oh-so-hawt dressing style, has faced a lot of body-shaming in the early years of her life. The actress first talked about the same after her video from her initial days of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi went viral. The clip garnered a lot of attention, as Mouni looked unrecognisable with flat hair and subtle makeup.
At the tender age of 19, Mouni Roy tasted fame with her role as 'Krishna Tulsi Virani' in Ekta Kapoor's hit show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Over the years, she transformed herself, and fans love her fashion sense. But she wasn't always praised for her looks. During the initial years of entering the glamour world, she faced brutal body-shaming.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mouni Roy revealed that she faced a lot of harsh criticism from people. She had overheard people talking about her looks behind her back. Mouni revealed that she had a humble upbringing as she was born in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, and always knew she wasn't a gorgeous person. She said:
"I'll be very honest when I started and people used to talk, I’ve always heard, always known I’m not the best looking person in a room. And I’ve always been okay with it. But when I came to Bombay, it was somehow a problem to look different, to not look like the quintessential heroine."
Mouni further added that as a 19-year-old girl, it would effect her and she would cry a lot. She revealed that earlier she didn't knew about makeup or hair or how to present herself in front of people. However, later, she got the wisdom and overcame the difficult ride. She said:
"I’ve understood all that (being a quintessential heroine) now, but as a young girl of 19, it was very difficult. I used to cry a lot. I’ve overheard people in a room talking about me. My first 2-3 years in terms of how I looked or felt. I never… When I came here, suddenly it was I didn’t know anything about hair or makeup or how to present myself. But thankfully I was very observant and God gave me the wisdom to finally overcome it."
Fans stumbled upon an unseen video of Mouni Roy from her starting years in the television. In the clip, she was seen donning an orange-toned suit and blue dupatta. Mouni Roy's transformation left everyone in shock. Soon, netizens pointed out her changed look, and some even claimed about her undergoing plastic surgery.
