Indian star cricketer, Mohammad Shami married Hasin Jahan in 2014, and in 2018, she accused him of domestic violence and having an extramarital affair. The Kolkata High Court had ordered the star Indian pacer to pay a monthly alimony of Rs 1,30,000 to Hasin and his daughter as maintenance. The order was declared at the Alipore court in 2023. Here's what had taken place.
Mohammed Shami, who was accused of domestic violence, was instructed by a West Bengal sessions court to pay monthly alimony of Rs 1,30,000, in 2023. The sum of cash reportedly would be divided into personal alimony money of Rs 50,000, while the other part of the amount, which is Rs 80,000, would be as a child allowance. Earlier, Hasin also lodged a police complaint against the cricketer and his elder brother, Hasib Ahmad.
She had levelled heavy charges of infidelity and had also asked for a dowry against Mohammed Shami and Hasib. Shami had to pay a large amount of alimony, which was not close to the original demand of Rs 10,00,000. The amount was meant to be divided into two parts- Rs 700,000 for personal alimony while for the child allowance, Rs 3,00,000 was demanded.
A report by News 19 claimed that Hasin had got the court's judgement in her favour; she had said that she would appeal to the High Court as the monthly alimony of Rs 1,30,000 would not be enough. She said:
"Rs 50,000 is minimal for me so I have to challenge this. It’s true that the verdict is in my favour but I will go to the high court as the stipulated money for my maintenance is very less considering the income of Shami. Since I don’t have any financial support or earning, I only know how I arranged the money for so long. Thus, I deserve much more alimony for spending a quality life."
Jahan's lawyer had also said that Shami's income was around Rs 7 crore during the financial year of 2020-21. The lawyer explained that as per the income tax returns of the cricketer, the monthly alimony amount earlier stated of Rs 10,00,000 was reasonable. Shami's lawyer claimed that Jahan's plea of requesting Rs 10,00,000 in alimony was not justified as he had drew money from her modelling career.

Hasin has a daughter named Bebo, and reportedly, to get back to her modelling career, she had also lost 15 kg. During an interview with the Times Of India, she claimed to quit modelling after marrying Shami in 2014. Hasin Jahan said:
"I gave up my career, my likings and my dreams for Shami because he didn't like my career. But now that he has deserted me, I am striving to reclaim the fame and popularity I had once achieved."
