Indian tennis player, Sania Mirza garnered much attention when her former husband, Shoaib Malik, announced his marriage to Pakistani actress, Sana Javed in January 2024. Months after this shocking announcement, reports surfaced in the media claiming that Sania had found love again and has tied the knot with the Indian fast bowler, Mohammed Shami.
Recently, Shami reacted to these reports of his wedding with the Indian tennis sensation. While talking with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, the 33-year-old cricketer addressed the rumours and asked people to refrain from spreading such blatant lies. Highlighting that people should be responsible on social media, he said:
"I urge everyone to be responsible with social media and refrain from spreading such unfounded news."

This statement by the cricketer comes after his and Sania's doctored picture featuring the duo in wedding clothes went viral on the internet. The photo was initially taken at Sania Mirza's wedding to her previous husband, Shoaib Malik, in 2010. However, in the fake photograph, the latter photo was changed to Shami, and it has since become popular on social media.
Mohammed Shami continued his thoughts on the show and said that people do such things for lame fun without knowing the consequences. He further added that even though memes are made for fun when they are related to someone's life, people should think twice before posting such lies. In his words:
"Ajeeb hi hai aur hai kya usme? zabardasti kiya hai par kya karien? Phone kholo toh apna hi photo dikhta hai. Lekin mai ek hi cheez bolna chahunga - Kisiko nehi kheechna chahiye aisa. Main maanta hu memes aapke mazaak ke liye hai lekin kisi ke life se related hote hai. Toh aapko bari soch samajh kar memes banana chahiye. Aaj aap verified page nehi ho, aapka address nehi hai, known nehi ho toh aap bol sakte ho."

Shami further blasted those who spread fake news on social media. He challenged them to upload such posts from verified accounts and said he would reply then. The Indian pacer asked those people to achieve success, and then he would consider them good human beings. In his words:
"Lekin mai ek hi cheez bolna chahunga - agar aap mein dum hai toh verified page se bolke dikhao, fir hum batate hai. Dusre ki taang kheechna bohot aasan hai. Success achieve karo, apna level upar karo. Tab main manunga aap acche insaan hai."
