Miss Universe 2025's Bizzare And Wildest Costumes, Miss Norway As Fish, Miss SL As Teapot And More

The Miss Universe 2025, hosted in Thailand, has been a unique ride. From Miss Mexico walking out after being humiliated by the pageant director to Miss Jamaica walking off the stage and falling, this year's competition has stayed in the limelight for many such wild incidents. However, the costume round of Miss Universe 2025 takes the cake in being one of the wildest experiences of the pageant. 

Many of the divas were decked out in extravagant costumes with deep cultural meaning, representing their countries. All of the beauty queens from around the world looked gorgeous in their costumes. However, a few caught people's eyes more than the others due to their absolute uniqueness and inexplicability. So, here's a look at some of the most bizarre costumes of Miss Universe 2025. 

Miss Norway Leonora Lysglimt-Rødland dressed up as a fish

Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch won the Miss Universe 2025 crown, however it is Miss Norway who everyone has been talking about. When Miss Norway Leonora Lysglimt-Rødland walked out on stage as a fish, a Norwegian salmon to be more specific, no one could believe their eyes. She wore a cape-like wrap made of fabric that replicated the shimmer of a salmon. The wrap was attached to a headpiece that looked exactly like a fish's. Leonora also opted for fin-like stockings of the same material covering her sandals. The inside of her costume had the orangish peach hue unique to salmon flesh. Miss Norway had chosen this costume to represent her country's leading export. In the costume round, it was announced:

"This salmon-inspired gown mirrors both the delegate’s movements as a baton twirler and the essence of Norway’s leading export."

Miss Sri Lanka Lihasha Lindsay White stunned at Miss Universe 2025 while dressed as a brass teapot

Miss Sri Lanka rolled onto the stage during the costume round of Miss Universe 2025 inside an intricately crafted, large replica of a teapot. Miss Sri Lanka Lihasa opted for a brass teapot-inspired costume, which symbolises the country's warmth and hospitality. 

Miss Estonia Brigitta Schaback wore a huge faux wolf-head as part of her costume

Brigitta Schaback represented her country, Estonia, through a werewolf folk tale called Libahunt. Miss Estonia channelled the protagonist of the story, who was accused of being a werewolf but refused to bow down, through her costume. Brigitta's entire outfit was lined with black-and-white fur. But what stole the show was the huge faux fox head she wore. Miss Estonia also had a full moon replica attached to her costume, which is an important part of werewolf lore. 

Miss Tanzania Naisae Yona dressed as Queen Bee

Naisae Yona drew inspiration from bees, specifically the Queen Bee, for her Miss Universe 2025 costume round. She donned a beautifully made gown of black and orange hues. While Naisae's gown had a black corsetted bodice, the skirt was intricately made to look like a beehive, and it did. Miss Tanzania also wore an ornate headpiece, which became the star of her entire ensemble. For the unversed, Tanzania is among the top producers of honey in Africa, with the beekeeping industry sustaining a huge part of the population. A part of Miss Tanzania's metaphors behind this costume was said:

"The Miss Universe Tanzania 2025 National Costume draws its inspiration from the powerful symbolism of the Queen Bee, a radiant emblem of leadership, unity, and purpose within the hive. Crafted in hues of golden yellow and deep black, the design mirrors the elegance and strength of Tanzanian women who lead with resilience and nurture their communities with grace."

Miss USA Audrey Eckert walked out on stage as an eagle

Many Miss Universe divas took inspiration from their country's national birds for the costume round. However, Miss USA stole the show with her huge eagle headpiece. The bald eagle, the USA's national bird, is a frequently used motif in the country. Audrey chose this to represent her nation at the pageant stage. The Miss USA social media page explained the meaning behind the costume and shared:

"From the golden eagle headpiece and its lifelike wings, to the crystal-encrusted bodice and intricate beadwork inspired by Indigenous artistry, every detail tells a story of heritage, strength, and hope. The plumes echo our country’s vast landscapes, while the towering headdress and feathered boots honor the courage that defines the American spirit."
