Mirage, a crime thriller directed by Jeethu Joseph, struggled hard to win the hearts of its audience. For the unversed, the film was released on September 19, 2025. As Jeethu’s project, the expectations for the film starring Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali were quite high, given that he had previously created a blockbuster hit franchise, Drishyam. Mirage, made with a budget of Rs. 14 crore, could collect a total of Rs. 4.08 crores at the box office. Now, the thriller has paved its way to the OTT.

The thriller, which revolves around 'Abhirami' (played by Aparna Balamurali) and introduces 'Aswin' (essayed by Asif Ali) to unveil a deep, dark secret, is gearing up for its OTT release. According to an official announcement, Jeethu Joseph’s crime thriller, Mirage, is set for its digital premiere on SonyLIV from October 20, 2025. Sharing the update, Sony LIV wrote:

The crime thriller, Mirage, follows the story of 'Abhirami', played by Aparna Balamurali, whose simple and peaceful life takes a drastic turn when her fiancé, 'Kiran', suddenly goes missing, leaving no trace. Totally shocked by the whole missing thing, 'Abhirami' becomes desperate to find 'Kiran' and also decides to unveil the truth behind the uncanny incident. In her mission to search for her fiancé, 'Abhirami' meets with Aswin, a digital investigative journalist portrayed by Asif Ali.

After learning about 'Kiran's' mysterious disappearance, Aswin becomes interested in the case and joins hands with 'Abhirami'. However, as the duo starts digging deeper into 'Kiran's' disappearance, they discover that the truth is far more complicated than they imagined. In their mission to find 'Kiran', 'Aswin' and 'Kiran' find themselves surrounded by suspicious people, hidden clues, and strange coincidences that suggest the former’s life wasn’t as simple as they thought. Each step in their search mission reveals new secrets and raises more questions about 'Kiran's' mysterious disappearance.

Jeethu Joseph’s directorial, Mirage, features a talented team both on-screen and off-screen. Along with Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali in lead roles, the film also stars Hakim Shahjahan, Arjun Syam Gopan, Deepak Parambol, Hannah Reji Koshy, Sampath Raj, and Saravanan. Director, Jeethu Joseph worked with Srinivasan Abrol on the screenplay, which is based on a story by Aparna R. Tarakad.
