It was on June 27, 2025, that she breathed her last at 42 and is believed to have passed away due to cardiac arrest. She was taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, Parag Tyagi, but was declared dead. Well, according to many police reports, Shefali was taking self-medication related to anti-ageing, glutathione injections, according to a preliminary police report. Now, model and actress, Mini Mathur, opened up about celebrities who use anti-ageing regimes such as glutathione.
Mini sat down for an interview with Vickey Lalwani and revealed that women always have the pressure to look good. She shared that it was not at all a glamorous conversation to have, but she felt that it was important because people had to talk about the same and create awareness. Mini shared that she was not there to judge who was taking what treatments or getting work done on themselves. She shared that there was no point in looking good if one was not fine from within and mentioned knowing people who took glutathione supplements to look young. Mini confessed to taking the same and shared:
"Everything you take should be under some kind of medical supervision. No one here is a doctor who knows what kind of reactions anything will have, and it can have a negative effect on you. There is nothing wrong in taking supplements that enhance your health, and there are many people I know that take such supplements like glutathione. For me, medical supervision is paramount.”
Mini went ahead and shared that she did not have much information on how Shefali passed away and felt she was not qualified to talk about the same. She does not know what Shefali's reports said and does not like to believe in the internet. Mini shared that the verification of a doctor was important, as she does not believe in things she reads on the internet. Mini is not sure what caused Shefali's death, but she did agree that the late actress did take supplements. Mini did share that she is cautious related to what she puts in her body. She shared:
"I check and double check if any needle entering my body has been taken out of a sealed package. I’m paranoid about all this. Too many things can go wrong. But yes, I take a lot of supplements… I have taken energising drips, but it’s always under medical supervision."
Shefali's post-mortem was carried out at Mumbai's Cooper Hospital, and investigations are underway related to her reason for demise. The cause of death has been kept reserved after the post-mortem was done, according to the police officials. Mini in the interview did stress the need to take medical advice before taking self-medication related to anti-ageing.
Shefali's friend, Pooja Ghai, earlier in the interview revealed Shefali had taken a usual drip on June 27, 2025. She had taken a Vitamin C IV drip, and Pooja revealed it was a normal thing to do. The police officials stated that Shefali had taken her normal pills on June 27, 2025 and in the afternoon had taken an injection shot, which was an anti-ageing drug. Her blood pressure then dropped, and Shefali was shivering, which prompted her family members to take her to the hospital.
