According to multiple reports, the series that began in 2016 and was pure nostalgia to the audience has come to an end with Season 5. While initially, 'Eleven's' life appeared to be sacrificed, a shocking twist brought her alive. In 2022, Millie Bobby Brown spoke with Allure and revealed how a painful experience made her decide to quit acting. She was just 10 years old when a casting director rejected her for her maturity. During the conversation, Millie explained that earlier she thought maturity was a good thing, but after the rejection, she was left heartbroken. She was quoted as saying:

"I always knew that I was mature, and I couldn't really help that. Going back to what I said earlier about being kind of very lonely in who I was and feeling like no one was quite like me in school and no one was as mature as I was, hearing that was really hard because I thought maturity was a good thing. Being told that it wasn’t, that I wouldn’t make it in this industry. It was so hurtful. I got really down about that."

Millie Bobby Brown recalled how her parents believed in her and told her to give a last audition for the series, Stranger Things. For the uninitiated, the Netflix supernatural saga, Stranger Things is created by the Duffer Brothers. During the same conversation, Millie shared how her parents told her to give it one last try before she landed in the role of 'Eleven'. She was quoted as saying:

"My parents told me, 'Just do this one last audition on tape and then you can go outside and play with your friends again.' So I said, 'Okay, yeah, I should do this one because it looks cool'".

Years ago, in 2020, Millie Bobby Brown opened up about her struggling days in the industry on the show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She recalled how she decided to leave the industry after she got rejected from the project, Game of Thrones. Millie revealed that she got disheartened by the industry as it was "full of rejection 24/7". She shared how much she wanted to get featured in Game of Thrones, but got rejected during auditions. She called the casting process in Hollywood difficult. She was quoted as saying:

"I was very disheartened by the acting industry. It is just full of rejection 24/7. I feel like you do get a lot of noes before you get a yes. I got a no for that and then that’s when I was like, 'Oh, this is really difficult.'"
