Indian Merchant Navy Officer's Murderer Wife, Muskan Still Wore 'Sindoor', Was Beaten By Lawyers

The marriage turned into a nightmare for the late merchant navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, after he was brutally murdered by his wife, Muskan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla. The news of the tragic incident has left the entire nation in shock. However, it seems like there was not an ounce of regret in the accused's eyes as they coldly stood in front of the cameras.

A Merchant Navy officer named Saurabh Rajput was brutally killed by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil. Sahil was also Saurabh's friend. Reportedly, they chopped his dead body into pieces. The duo then dumped the dead body inside of a drum and cemented the face of it. Now that the culprits are in police custody, they were brought in front of the media, and they seem not to have any regret about their hideous crime. 

However, their stone-cold expressions were not the only thing that caught our attention. It was Muskan's sindoor-donned forehead that irked the netizens. Several social media users noticed that Muskan still had put vermilion on her forehead and stated:

"What a lovely wife, even after killing her husband, she is wearing sindoor on her forehead."

According to a report by PTI, the police were escorting Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla out of the chief judicial magistrate's court on March 19, 2025, when a group of lawyers surrounded them and tried to hit them. The reports suggest that lawyers grabbed Sahil's clothes as the police tried to form a ring around the duo to protect them. Police officers had to jostle with the lawyers while they took the accused to safety. Another report by NDTV suggested that there had been prior information that an angry crowd of lawyers had begun to circle the court complex. While more police personnel were called, they found themselves against at least a hundred people who came with the intention of thrashing the duo.

The video of Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla being beaten by lawyers soon made its way onto social media. Netizens soon flooded the comments and shared their views on the couple being thrashed. A user wrote, "Street justice is being dished out to send a message across society." Another penned, "When lawyers behave like goons and have no confidence In the law of the land, what can we expect from the common man?" Another stated, "Kanoon ke haath damdaar hote hain." A comment read, "That's so satisfying."

Muskan and Sahil killed the 35-year-old Saurabh on March 4, 2025. Later, they chopped his dead body into pieces. The accused then put Saurabh's body into a drum full of cement and shut it sealed. This act left the entire nation in shock. After committing the crime, the wife, Muskan, went to Shimla with her boyfriend. However, she was caught red-handed by her mother, Kavita Rastogi, who got her arrested by the police. In an interview with NDTV, the accused, Muskan's mother stated:

"Jo bhi allegations lage hai, sahi hai, humne hi use arrest karwaya hai. Usne humare samne aakar confess kara tha, 'Ki mai ne aise aise kar diya hai Saurabh ko'. Hum ekdum turant thane le gaye. Kal 18 ko bataya hai, 17 ko aayi hai. Kehti ki mummy aise aise humne Saurabh ko maar diya hia."
