South Indian actress, Meghana Raj tied the knot with the man of her dreams, Chiranjeevi Sarja, in April 2018, after dating him for ten years. However, on June 7, 2020, Chiranjeevi suffered a sudden heart stroke and left for his heavenly abode at the age of 39. At that time, Meghana was already pregnant with their first child. Meghana Raj Sarja went through a hard time and dealt with a lot of judgements post-Chiranjeevi’s death.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Meghana Raj Sarja opened up about dealing with grief and judgement after she lost her husband, Chiranjeevi. She shared that people had their own expectations about her way of processing grief and added that she had a different way of doing that. Talking about the same, Meghana shared:

“There have been people who have come up to me and expected me to process it, it’s their expectations of how I should be processing it, and it’s not going to happen like that. Because you know, I don’t think I am genetically like that or biologically made in a certain way to act according to what they think is right. There is a certain way I will want to deal with it. And there is a certain way maybe my brother-in-law would want to deal with it."

Further in the interview, the actress revealed she was scared to laugh out loud as she feared that she would get judged for being happy after losing her husband. She also talked about people's mean comments, asking her if her grieving period was over and added:
"So, there are so many people who’ve come up to me and said ‘I don’t think it has affected any other family member that much’. I am like you’ll never know because it’s not according to your standard of how they should be reacting to it. There are times when I wanted to laugh out loud, and I was very scared thinking that people are going to judge me if I laugh loudly. They are going to ask me ‘Oh so, that’s it, done now, over? You’re calm and peaceful.’ Can you imagine that? I was really scared.”
While talking about sympathy, Meghana shared that some people were mean to her and they asked others not to sympathise with her as she has everything in life. However, the actress lashed out at them and said that she's also a human who values relationships and gets hurt. Reflecting on the same, she said:
“There have also been people who have said she has everything in life then why are you showing her sympathy? I mean, it is nice to know that I do have, you know, a good family backing. I do have a comfortable life but that doesn’t mean I’m not human, that doesn’t mean that my relationship is fake, that doesn’t mean that I can’t get hurt. How can people even make such comments I don’t understand.”

Not just this, Meghana was also judged for her body type and skin colour, when she joined the film industry. However, there was a phase when she lost weight, but then again people in the South film fraternity were disappointed by that. Sharing the details, she said:
“I came back extremely thin and anorexic. They felt very bad I lost weight, they’re like why did you lose weight? They accepted me as I was, they’re like you are chubby, you have curves. They found me very good-looking, or they found me perfect to be a Heroine for that industry, but then I already have this social obligation in my head that I’m supposed to have a very small waist, I’m supposed to not have a round face, I wish I had that proper high cheekbones and everything, and I really disappointed fans back there after I lost weight.”
