The actor grew up in a closed-knit community and studied with German American actress, Uta Hagen at the Herbert Berghof Studios in the early 1950s. She passed away on January 29, 2012, in La Jolla, California.
Tom Troupe decided to tie the knot again in 1967, with Carole Cook. The duo was affectionately dubbed the Lunts of L.A. Theatre. Their work reflected their love for collaborative stage work in Los Angeles. This included productions such as The Lion in Winter, Patio/Porch, and Father's Day. In 2002, they were the joint recipients of the L.A. Ovation Award for Career Achievement. For the uninitiated, it is a rare honour bestowed upon those whose efforts and contributions have had a lasting impact on the theatre.
