Meet 'The Boys' Season 5 Cast, Inside The Returning Characters, New Additions Ahead Of Final Chapter

The Boys Season 5 will be released in less than 24 hours. The final chapter of the show has become one of the most-awaited drops of the month. So, as we wait for the show's release, let's take a quick look at the cast and the characters who will lead the final battle.

Which characters are returning to The Boys Season 5?

The group 'The Boys' is all set to take down the corrupt company which created the 'Supes'. The group includes 'Billy Butcher', 'Hughie Campbell', 'Frenchie', 'Mother's Milk', 'Kimiko', and 'Annie January', formerly known as 'Starlight'. All of them will be returning for Season 5 to lock horns with 'Homelander' and other 'Supes' from Vought. So let's take a detailed look at who will be returning as who this season.

Karl Urban and Jack Quaid to reprise their roles as 'Billy Butcher' and 'Hughie Campbell'

Karl will return as the leader of the 'Boys', 'Billy Butcher'. He has dedicated his life to fighting against Vought and corrupt 'Supes', taking dramatic steps to seek revenge. On the other hand, Jack will play the role of 'Hughie Campbell', who has been fighting the war on superheroes with 'Butcher' and the 'Boys' since Season 1, after his girlfriend was killed by Supe malfeasance. 

Antony Starr to return as the antagonist, 'Homelander'

Antony will once again step into the shoes of 'Homelander', one of the most powerful superheroes on Earth, and the leader of 'The Seven'. His powers run the gamut, from super-strength and flight to the ability to blast lasers from his eyes. However, behind the act of an all-American icon are the shadows of a terrifying psychosis.

Erin Moriarty's 'Annie' and Jessie T. Usher's 'A-Train' to change sides in Season 5

'Annie' (formerly 'Starlight') found out the truth behind the Vought after joining 'The Seven' and later quit to join the 'Boys', shedding her 'Starlight' identity. She possesses light-based powers and has been in a relationship with 'Hughie' throughout the series. Meanwhile, 'A-Train' also had a change of heart, questioning his loyalty to 'Homelander' after witnessing corruption firsthand. He is also the one who accidentally killed 'Hughie's' girlfriend in Season 1.

Laz, Tomer, and Karen return as 'The Boys' for the last time

Laz Alonso will return as 'Mother's Milk', the brilliant tactician, relied upon by 'Butcher'. His personal vendetta against Vought stems from his family's tragic history with the company. On the other hand, Tomer Capone will reprise his role as 'Frenchie'. He is the "jack-of-all-trades" in the group, possessing skills in weapons, explosives, chemistry, and more. Karen Fukuhara will essay the role of 'Kimiko', who possesses powerful abilities, including superhuman strength, limb regeneration, and even the ability to rise from the dead. 

Chace and Nathan to form 'Homelander's' squad

Chace Crawford will return as 'The Deep', a 'The Seven' aquatic Supe who can communicate with fish and other aquatic creatures. He was exiled for his actions toward 'Starlight'. However, he was later brought back in 'The Seven' after pledging his unconditional loyalty to 'Homelander'. Nathan Mitchell, on the other hand will play the role of 'Black Noir', one of 'Homelander's' top superhero henchmen alongside 'The Deep'. 

Jensen Ackles to play 'Homelander's' father, while 'Cameron Crovetti' will come back as 'Homelander's' son

Jensen will play the role of 'Soldier Boy', the disbanded superhero, whom the 'Boys' rescue from a Russian laboratory in Season 3, and he later discovers he is 'Homelander's' biological father before being cryogenically frozen by Vought. Cameron will play the role of 'Ryan' who is 'Homelander' and 'Butcher's' wife, 'Becca's' son. He is the first naturally born 'Supe' with powers like his father. 

Susan, Valorie and Colby to complete 'The Seven' 

Susan Heyward will return as 'Sister Sage', the smartest person on the planet. She is a 'Supe' who sows chaos in the streets to hold 'Homelander' rise to power. Valorie Curry will reprise her role as 'Firecracker', a 'Supe' with the ability to generate sparks with her fingers. She joined 'The Seven' in Season 4 and is fiercely loyal to 'Homelander'. Last but not least, we have Colby Minifie, who will essay the role of 'Ashley Barrett', who began as a Vought publicist before climbing the corporate ladder. Terrified of 'Homelander', she remained loyal to a fault. At the end of Season 4, she gains superpowers by taking Compound V.

Who else will be joining The Boys Season 5?

There will be some new additions to the cast of The Boys for the final chapter. Daveed Diggs will join the cast as a series regular in Season 5. Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins will also make appearances this season. The first two episodes of The Boys will premiere on April 8, 2026 (ET) with the finale coming out in May 2026.
