Meet Savannah Guthrie's Children With Husband Michael Feldman Amid 'Today' Host's Mother's Abduction

Savannah Guthrie is currently in the news because her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reportedly missing from her home north of Tucson, Arizona, on February 1, 2026. Savannah missed the February 2 and 3, 2026 broadcasts of the Today show to be in Arizona with her family. Recently, the Pima County Sheriff's Department officially transitioned the investigation from a missing-persons case to a criminal investigation, treating Nancy Guthrie's residence as a crime scene.

Nancy was last seen by family members at her home in the Catalina Foothills at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 31. She was reported missing the following morning, Sunday, February 1, after failing to show up for church. Notably, the search is a "race against time" because Savannah Guthrie's mother requires daily medication that could be fatal if missed for more than 24 hours. Amid concerns about Nancy's disappearance, here's a look at her grandchildren.

All about Savannah Guthrie's daughter, Vale Guthrie Feldman

Vale Guthrie Feldman is the eldest child of Savannah Guthrie and her husband, communications consultant, Michael Feldman. Vale was born on August 13, 2014 and is currently 11 years old, as of February 2026. She has expressed an interest in becoming an actress and also enjoys tennis, gymnastics, and creating art. Vale is a big fan of pop star, Taylor Swift and even attended the Eras Tour with her mom. Showcasing her fangirl side, the preteen also joined Savannah Guthrie on stage during the Today show's 2023 Halloween celebration dressed as Taylor.

Savannah's "talented" daughter, as she likes to call her, is also interested in art, as evidenced by the drawings her mother often shares on social media. Savannah even jokingly noted that Vale once tried to charge her USD 5 for a custom family portrait. The little one makes occasional appearances on the Today show, recently interviewing her mother about her children's book, Mostly What God Does. She is close to her parents and often travels with them, including a trip to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Savannah has described Vale as her "miracle" baby, as she was born when the former was 42. Sharing her feelings as a first-time mom, Savannah told Hoda Kotb:

"I feel so different. I just feel like life just started. Honestly, I can't get over the joy she [Vale] brings. It's just inexpressible."

All about Savannah Guthrie's son, Charles Max Guthrie Feldman

Charles Max Guthrie Feldman is the younger child and only son of Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman. He was born on December 8, 2016, and is currently 9 years old, as of February 2026. He is named in honour of two family members, his late maternal grandfather, Charles Guthrie, and his paternal great-grandfather, Max. While his legal name is Charles, he is primarily known by the nickname, Charley. Savannah Guthrie admitted that she was "superstitious" about welcoming a second child and "didn't want to jinx it" because she conceived him through IVF at age 44 after several attempts. Regarding the "super chill little dude," she told Health in May 2019:

"I knew it was the winning lottery ticket to have one child — I was 42 when I had [Vale]. So I never dreamed that I would have two. But with Charley, I did do IVF. So I would say Vale was a miracle, and Charley was a medical miracle."

Savannah Guthrie shields her children from online scrutiny

Savannah Guthrie takes a deliberate approach to protecting her two kids' privacy and shielding them from the pressures of public life through strict digital boundaries. She has a firm no-smartphones-and-no-social-media policy for her children, daughter Vale and son Charley. Savannah aims to delay their access "as long as possible" to allow them a childhood free from online pressures. During an interview with E! News in October 2025, Savannah Guthrie said:

"My conversation about social media is, 'No.' And my conversation about a smartphone is, 'No.' My kids are 8 and 11 — of course, they want all of that stuff. And I just want to hold off as long as possible for that."

For her daughter's limited digital access, Savannah drafted a formal contract requiring Vale to acknowledge that her parents can read her texts and that she should never send anything she wouldn't want to see on the "front page of The New York Times." The 54-year-old admits to walking a "fine line" regarding how much personal information she shares on-air.

Savannah Guthrie's children want to stay away from the spotlight

Savannah has noted that as her children grow older, she is more careful because they are at an age where they find her public presence "embarrassing" or "mortifying". She shared that her son, Charley, asked her not to attend a school after-party because he didn't want the "attention" that comes with his mother working on the news. The Today host respected this request and simply dropped off juice boxes instead. For Savannah, motherhood is extremely special, as she gave birth to both her kids in her 40s, which she considers "long past the [right] time" for pregnancy. Reflecting on the same in February 2024, Savannah told PEOPLE:

"I'll never get over it. I got to have babies long past the time that anyone would really be hopeful, [and] I had long given up hope."
