Former Syracuse quarterback, Rex Culpepper died at the age of 28 following a dirt bike accident in Georgia on Saturday, March 14, 2026. His death was confirmed by Syracuse University and his fiancée, Savanna Morgan, who shared an emotional tribute on social media. The ex-college football star was reportedly diagnosed with a serious ailment a few years ago, and his untimely passing made the details known to the public. Following that, his fans have been praising his resilience and sharing condolences with his family. Amid that, here's a look at his last days of life spent with Savanna and their relationship.

Savanna Morgan is Rex Culpepper's longtime lover. Not much is known about her as she has maintained a relatively private life despite her relationship with the former Syracuse quarterback. She is currently in the spotlight due to her recent emotional tribute for her late finacé, Rex, following his unnatural death. She was known to be his biggest support system, and the couple was even planning a future together. However, his passing has deprived the duo of the chance to build a family.
Rex Culpepper and Savanna Morgan met in 2020, roughly six years before his passing in March 2026, as Savannah's post indicates. While the exact setting of their first meeting hasn't been publicly detailed in her tributes, their relationship was defined by an immediate and deep connection. According to her, Rex didn't believe in soulmates until he met her. The statement offered a glimpse of the duo's enduring bond. She stated, "Our story was a good one babe", and recalled how happy they were while being with each other. Savanna was quoted by Daily Mail as:
"No one expects to meet the love of your life and lose then only 6 short years after meeting. Rex didn't always believe in soulmates but towards the end he told me that he didn't realise what having a soulmate felt like until we felt like extensions of each other."

Savanna further shared that she and Rex Culpepper lived their lives to the fullest, and she had no regrets regarding the time she spent with him. Reports indicate that the couple was living together or spending time in the Southeast, as the accident occurred in Georgia. In their abode, they cultivated hobbies together and motivated one another to do whatever they wanted to, including travelling. For Savanna Morgan, every moment spent with Rex was special and unforgettable. She stated:
"And one thing about us is that we lived every single day like it was our last. We did every little thing that we set our minds to, between learning new skills and hobbies, and travelling to new places, there was never any free time with us and not a moment spent apart. I don't regret a single day in our 6 years. You made six years feel like a lifetime Rexy."

Rex Culpepper was riding a two-stroke dirt bike on a track in Georgia when he suffered a "freak accident" while attempting a jump. He sustained severe injuries during the crash that ultimately proved fatal. Specific details regarding whether he was taken to the hospital or it was a on-spot death case were not shared publicly. Confirming his demise, his former team, Syracuse wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
"Our Orange family mourns the loss of Rex Culpepper, who passed away this weekend at the age of 28. Rex lived his life with endless passion, having overcome cancer at the age of 20 while playing for the Orange."
Rex diagnosed with testicular cancer in March 2018 when he was 20 years old. The cancer was found to have metastasised to the lymph nodes in his abdomen. He announced the diagnosis in mid-March 2018 via Instagram, noting he had already undergone surgery. He underwent an intensive 10-week treatment plan that included approximately 100 hours of chemotherapy. Notably, Rex Culpepper continued to participate in team activities and even played in Syracuse University's 2018 spring football game while still undergoing chemotherapy, leading the team on a touchdown drive. In June 2018, less than three months after his initial announcement, he was declared cancer-free.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to Rex Culpepper's family as they deal with his loss.
