After working for a few months at WIN Television, in October 2009, Sophie joined Nine Network in Sydney and occasionally served as a news presenter in the network’s national bulletins.

In 2010, Sophie also gave short news updates on 9Go!, Nine Network’s sister channel. In April 2023, Sophie was appointed as the news presenter on Weekend Today. In August 2024, she was announced as the co-host of Weekend Today and served in the position until December 2024.

The duo had been seeing each other soon after Moises got separated from his first wife, Krista. In January 2024, when Sophie shared a snap of her with Moises in one of the stadiums with their arms around each other, a few comments hinted at something brewing between the couple. Journalist, Jayne Azzopardi from The Today Show wrote, "This makes me happy." Radio and TV presenter Dan Anstey playfully commented, "He’s a keeper."

Since January 2024, Sophie and Moises have been posting lovey-dovey pictures on Instagram. While Sophie kept the caption of every romantic picture of her and the Australian cricketer, short and crisp, she ensured to make a heartfelt birthday wish to her boyfriend. Moises was born on February 1, 1987, in Funchal, Portugal. When he was just 16 years old, he got a chance in the Australian U-19 cricket team. Over the years, he has proved to be an all-rounder on the field. However, in 2017, the star player was diagnosed with clinical depression. This thing took such a toll on his mental health, he also thought of ending his life. Speaking about his toughest phase, Moises told 'Ordineroli Speaking' podcast:

"If you looked up the depression symptoms on Google, I was ticking off almost every single one of them and quite severely. I remember lying in bed wanting to (self medicate) for a long time and considering all the different types of dr**s that would be possible. At this stage, I was like who would I call? I wasn't even thinking of recreational or party dr**s."
