Shubhankar Mishra, the renowned journalist, is widely known for his podcast shows. According to his LinkedIn profile, Shubhankar is currently working at NDTV as a consulting editor. Besides being a popular journalist, Shubhankar is also a YouTuber and has 78 lakh subscribers. The journalist-turned-YouTuber is also a social media star and enjoys 15.3 million followers on Instagram. He is well known for his videos on politics, geopolitics, entertainment, lifestyle, cricket and more.

Over the years, Shubhankar has worked with various leading news channels. He first gained recognition for his anchoring style in TV9 Bharatvarsh. In 2023, he left Aaj Tak and announced it on his X handle (formerly Twitter). Currently, Shubhankar Mishra, the prolific journalist, is hogging the limelight for his professional front. Shubhankar Mishra's early life

According to a report by DNA India, Shubhankar Mishra was born on April 10, 1993, in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. He reportedly spent his early years in Delhi and Lucknow. As per a report by Starsunfolded, Shubhankar completed his schooling at St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. He pursued B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering at Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Greater Noida, India.

Shubhankar Mishra's father wanted him to become an engineer

According to a DNA India report, Shubhankar Mishra’s father wished to see his son to become an engineer. This is why Shubhankar pursued a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering for four years. However, he shared his dream of becoming a journalist with his father, which didn’t go well with him. Despite his dad’s disapproval, Shubhankar enrolled in a journalism college.

Shubhankar Mishra's journey as a journalist

Shubhankar Mishra began his journalism career by working in regional news channels such as India News Haryana and India News Uttar Pradesh or Uttarakhand. According to his LinkedIn profile, Shubhankar started working at India News in October 2015 and left the news channel in September 2017. Two months after leaving India News, Shubhankar joined Zee Media in November 2017 and left the company in December 2018.

Next, Shubhankar worked in TV9 as a news anchor. He stayed at TV9 for three years from December 2018 to February 2022. Before joining NDTV, Shubhankar worked in India Today as a news anchor. He himself wrote a note on his X handle in 2023 to confirm that he ended his journey with India Today. In the note, Shubhankar mentioned that dreams come true, and Aaj Tak was his dream workplace. He wrote:

"Dreams come true! #AajTak was a dream workplace for me like most media professionals. I started my work stint at the India Today Group on February 18, 2022. From debate shows to ground reports, I was offered various opportunities to work and grow. But as they say all good things don't last forever. Today, I bid adieu to a very fantastic work place that exhibits brilliant minds and talent. I am filled with gratitude. With a heavy heart and immense love, I am heading towards a new chapter in my work life. Hoping to see you with something better soon! -Shubhankar Mishra."
