Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, have been going strong for over a decade and a half now. However, their journey hasn't been anything short of a rollercoaster. The American Idol winner and former NHL star met in 2008 and wed in 2010. They had an instant connection and have been going strong ever since.
While Carrie had some reservations about Mike earlier in the day, after their first encounter, she couldn't deny their chemistry. The couple has been married for nearly 15 years and shares two children, Isaiah and Jacob, whom they welcomed in 2015 and 2019, respectively. Recently, Carrie has been in the headlines for alleged comments on the show, which have also brought attention to her personal life.

Carrie has been making headlines since she told a contestant that she didn't pick the right song for the competition. However, it appeared that the audience didn't agree with her and booed, "They just like to boo me", she stated after that instance. The audience was also left irked when Carrie noted that another contestant had a mix of good and bad notes during their performance. While she responded with just a silly face, her fellow judge, Luke Bryan, tried to have her back by stating, "I heard it too!" What further bothered Carrie was that the live audience did not boo when Bryan commented on one contestant's shaky start, prompting Underwood to complain:
"Why don't they boo you? Are you not going to boo him? I'm getting used to it."
The incident has led the internet to reflect on Carrie's personal life as well, and, being her other half, Mike Fisher has naturally caught the spotlight. So, let's take a quick look at who he is. Mike was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, to Jim and Karen Fisher, who brought him up alongside his three siblings. However, in March 2019, the sportsperson became a United States citizen.

At just 19 years old, Mike was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 1999 and stayed with the team until 2011 before being traded to the Nashville Predators. Mike announced his retirement from hockey in August 2017 after leading the team to the Stanley Cup finals and losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins. However, his retirement was short-lived, as he returned to the game in February 2018, with his wife standing by his decision throughout. He told ESPN:
"Carrie asked me every few days if I was going to do it. She wanted me to do it. And she's usually right. I believe this team is built to win and has a very good chance. So that's part of the reason I want to come back."
Despite their potential, the Nashville Predators didn't make it to the 2018 Stanley Cup finals. Mike permanently hung up his skates after 18 seasons in the NHL. In July 2023, the hockey pro was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
Carrie's bassist, Mark Childers, arranged for the singer and Mike to meet at one of her concerts in 2008. While initially she didn't want to "deal with him", as she recalled during an appearance on MTV's Behind the Music podcast in April 2022. Carrie was surprised to see how well they hit it off. The pair later tied the knot on July 10, 2010, at the Ritz-Carlton resort on Lake Oconee in Georgia. Almost five years after they got hitched, the couple welcomed their first son, Isaiah Michael Fisher, on February 27, 2015.

However, when the couple tried for another baby, they were met with one heartbreak after another. Carrie suffered multiple miscarriages before the couple's prayers were answered. Carrie and Mike welcomed their "little miracle," son Jacob Bryan Fisher, on January 21, 2019. During an episode of Mike and Carrie: God & Country, Mike shared that being a dad was the "greatest thing ever." He also shared that his greatest hope for Isaiah and Jacob is that they have a "real relationship with Jesus."
While we have all heard the phrase, "behind every successful man is a woman", Mike proved that behind every successful woman is a loving and supportive man as well. Since winning American Idol in 2005, Carrie has earned eight Grammy awards and released dozens of No. 1 singles, and rightfully, her biggest fan is her husband. In 2018, Underwood was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame with Fisher by her side. She was quoted as saying:
"God has given you one of the best voices, crazy work ethic and [a] platform you’ve never taken for granted. You’ve remained humble in all the success and never craved the attention or fame one bit. Love you lots!"
In 2016, Mike co-founded a hunting lifestyle brand named Catchin' Deers alongside his younger brother, Bud, and Austin Casselman, per the Nashville Post. They grew the apparel brand that sells humorous hunting-themed merch by creating funny YouTube and social media videos. In one of their popular videos, Mike performed Before She Bleats, a parody of his wife, Carrie's 2006 hit song, Before He Cheats.
