Meet TV Anchor, Anjana Om Kashyap's Husband, Mangesh Kashyap, Additional CP Security In Delhi Police

Popular journalist and TV anchor, Anjana Kashyap, who caters news to the viewers became a piece of news herself recently. It so happened that while the nation was praying for Bollywood legend, Dharmendra, it was rumoured that the veteran actor had passed away. Among the various news channels that ran the news was Aaj Tak. While the anchor of the news channel, Anjana Kashyap, also faced a huge backlash for spreading a false narrative on Dharmendra’s death.

Amid the whole fiasco, it was reported that Anjana Kashyap also met with a tragic end and passed away suddenly. The news became viral after an online Reel featured a man expressing grief in front of Anjana’s poster, wearing a funeral garland. Soon, a tweet of Anjana went viral, in which she reshared an apology tweeted by India Today for spreading false information about Dharmendra’s death.

While everyone is aware of Anjana Om Kashyap as an anchor and popular journalist. Not many people know about her husband, Mangesh Kashyap, who is equally popular as Anjana. Let us read on to know more about him.

Anjana Om Kashyap’s husband, Mangesh Kashyap, is an eminent IPS officer

While Anjana is popular for making decisions in the newsroom. Her husband, Mangesh, is the man who is responsible for making decisions for the nation. Yes, you read that right. Mangesh is an eminent police officer who has served in many notable positions. After completing his graduation in Bihar, Mangesh Kashyap cleared his Civil Services Examination. After two years of training, Mangesh got his first posting as an officer in Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service (DANIPS) cadre.

Mangesh Kashyap held various reputed positions

In 1995, Mangesh was posted to Delhi and served there. In 2009, he was inducted into the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre. Mangesh is one of the most reputed officers, who has held various eminent positions, including Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Delhi Police, Chief Vigilance Officer of South Delhi Municipal Corporation.

Mangesh also served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Economic Defence Wing and later assumed the role of Deputy Commissioner of Police Security TRG in New Delhi, and in 2023, he was promoted as Additional CP Security in the Delhi Police.

In 2025, Mangesh was transferred to the post of Additional CP Crime, Delhi Police. Mangesh is a very passionate officer, and in an interview, he was asked about his fondest memory of being in the service, and he replied:

“There are many such fond memories. However, the best memory was from my initial days when I had managed to crack a very sensational case. Three people were murdered along with the school principal. The principal was killed in front of the entire class. There was a lot of hue and cry. I managed to catch the culprit. It was a rewarding experience.”

Born and raised in Ranchi, Anjana pursued her graduation in Botany Hons from Delhi University. She later completed her post-graduation in Social Work. In 2000, Anjana entered the world of Journalism after obtaining a diploma in Journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia. She started her career with Doordarshan, where she worked on the show, Aankhon Dekhi. 

She later moved to Zee News and News 24, where she honed her media skills. Her career took off when she joined Aaj Tak, where she gained immense fame. She is currently one of the most-followed news anchors of the nation.
