After finalising her divorce from ex-husband Michael Halterman in late 2023, Slaton fell in love with the 50-year-old journalist, and the two got engaged within just five months of dating.

Although Amy initially kept her relationship private, she publicly revealed Brian’s identity during the April 15, 2025, episode of  The 1000-Lb. Sisters Season 7. Fans got a glimpse of Brian when Amy opened up about their first encounter. She revealed:

“We were in the mosh pit and we were talking and singing and stuff..And we went to go get street tacos. And we haven’t been apart since.”

Despite their glaring 13-year age gap, they instantly clicked as they bonded over their shared love for horror films. On their second date, the couple got matching Jack Skellington tattoos that read ‘Scary Love’.

While Amy is a well-known reality TV personality, her now-husband, Biran, leads a private life. Honouring Brian’s wish, she dyed her hair a soft pink hue and styled it in a Victorian-inspired updo, paired with a dark metallic tiara, bold berry lips, and a rustic bouquet of dried florals wrapped in burlap. Brian complemented her perfectly in a classic black tuxedo, while Amy’s sons, Gage and Glenn, looked adorable in matching mini tuxes. The 'Victorian meets dusty blue and white' themed wedding featured Amy’s artwork, with her best friend Ollisha “Lee Lee” Davis as maid of honor and their friend Billy officiating the ceremony. Speaking about her dream wedding, the bride told PEOPLE:

“My wedding is a dream finally coming true. I’m getting my happily ever after!”

Despite the controversy, Amy insists that Brian has brought light into her life after years of struggle. Following her divorce and mental health challenges, the TLC star says her new husband’s kindness, especially toward her kids, has helped her heal.
