'Chandler Bing' from Friends, remained in the deepest core of our hearts, and thus, when Matthew Perry passed away two years back on October 28, it felt like a personal loss. Rather than the grief caused by any celebrity's death, it felt as if we had lost one of our closest friends, who would make us laugh with his nonstop 'Knock Knock' jokes. It's been two years since Matthew Perry passed away.
Perry was found unresponsive at her LA home, in the hot tub, and later autopsy reports suggested that his demise was caused by the acute effects of Ketamine, while other contributing factors were drowning and coronary artery disease. Five people were charged and arrested in connection with Matthew Perry's death. Now, his sister, Caitlin Morrison, talked about losing her loving brother two years back.
Caitlin Morrison sat for an interview with Variety recently, in which she stated that she now feels ghosts may be real, as she can still feel her brother's presence and hear his voice often. She mentioned that when certain situations come up, it feels like Perry is just right there, sharing his own viewpoints, and maybe it's real or not, but his presence can be felt. Adding a humorous touch to her statement, just like her brother, Caitlin said:
"I feel him around a lot and I can hear the things that he would say in response to the things that are going on as if he’s actually here saying them. Maybe he is. I don’t know. Who knows? Maybe ghosts are real. We’ll make some pottery together."
In the same interview, Caitlin was asked about how she is navigating the grief, now that her brother's second death anniversary is near. To this, she said that it's nothing new or harder, just like usual days, but just the days when there is permission to cry publicly in an embarrassing way.
'Chandler' channeled through Perry was known for his classic humour, and he, in the series, would often say that his holidays, like Thanksgiving, were ruined due to bad experiences, while also stating that humour was his defence mechanism. Similarly, channelling his brother's reel and, in fact, real life's rather humorous style, even with grief, she said that her brother ruined Halloween for her. She could be quoted as saying:
"But maybe that’s wrong, because on his birthday this year, I realised I was actually more OK that day than usual. Those days like October 28th don’t actually make it harder. They’re the days where it’s allowed to be really hard. They’re permission to cry publicly in an embarrassing way. The defensive mechanism's funny answer is he ruined Halloween for me, so thanks. The serious answer is… It’s just a day with a little bit of darkness on it."

The F.R.I.E.N.D.S. cast always stayed like a family to each other throughout and even after the sitcom ended, and thus, Matthew Perry's demise made them grieve for a long time. Talking about the same, Jennifer Aniston, in an interview with Vanity Fair, revealed that while Matthew was alive, all five of them actually mourned him even before his death. Jennifer mentioned that all of them tried to help Matthew.
Jen also shared that they were mourning for him for a long time, because of the battle he had been fighting with that disease, which was not only tough for the actor, but also for his co-stars and his fans. Jennifer stated that there's a part of her that now feels better, given the fact that her co-star is at peace wherever he is now, even though he's gone.
