In addition to his appearance in Back to the Future, he was widely appreciated for his roles in Westerns and strong character performances. He made his debut in 1964 with Black Like Me as 'Mugger in Alley'. He further appeared in several films, including In the Heat of the Night, The Great Northfield, Minnesota Raid, The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension and A Million Ways to Die in the West

Matt enjoyed a career that spanned more than five decades, with one of his most notable roles being bartender, 'Chester' in Back to the Future Part III. He also made appearances in popular TV series such as Grace Under Fire, The Jeff Foxworthy Show, and Little House on the Prairie. Matt Clark was widely recognised for his contributions to Westerns. He built a prolific body of work, appearing in dozens of films and television shows from the late 1950s through the 2010s.
