A really inspiring decision has been taken by the organisers of the Miss Universe competition, to expand its eligibility criteria and allow mothers and married women to enter the competition. Reacting to this historic decision, Miss Universe 2020 winner, Andrea Meza of Mexico expressed her happiness. Applauding the decision, the former Miss Universe, in an interview with the Insider, said that she is happy that the pageant is now open for women with families. In her words:

In the same interview, Andrea Meza called the present rules 'sexist' and 'unrealistic'. Pointing at the people who are against the decision, Andrea said:

"A few people are against these changes because they always wanted to see a single woman who is available for a relationship. They always wanted to see a woman that, from the outside, looks so perfect that she's almost unreachable. The former is sexist, and the latter is unrealistic."
