Manoj Bajpayee has made a name for himself in the Indian film industry with his impeccable and versatile performances. In his career spanning over three decades, he got his first breakthrough role in 1998 with the film, Satya, but Manoj’s consecutive films tanked at the box office. However, he once again rose to fame with his role in the film, Gangs Of Wasseypur, and ever since then, there has been no looking back. Apart from being a phenomenal actor, Manoj is also a doting husband and caring father. He got married for the second time to Shabana Raza in 2006, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Ava Nayla in 2011.
Recently, Manoj, along with his Silence 2 co-star Prachi Desai, appeared on Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast. While conversing Bharti asked the actor about how kids are these days and how to take care of them. To this, he emphasised that the parents should talk to their kids in their native language, otherwise children would never learn it. In his words:
“Dikkat toh hogi. Punjabi, Gujarati jo bhi sikhana hai, shuru se baat karte rahe usse aur angrezi mein baat karne ka bohot shauk hai toh bagal ke padosi se karna kyunki bacche nahi seekh payenge, Mumbai sheher mein nahi seekh payenge agar unse apni bhasha mein nahi baat karoge aap.”

The actor further highlighted that his daughter, Ava Nayla’s proficiency in Hindi has now improved, and she has also been scoring good marks in the subject. Manoj also added that if the children do not speak Hindi at school or at home, then that would be troublesome in the future, and the kids would only listen to music by Taylor Swift and wouldn’t understand Indian music. In his words:
“Meri beti ab jaa ke jo hai Hindi mein bohot acche number lekar aa rahi hai aur dheere dheere uski Hindi acchi ho rahi hai nahi toh wo na school mein bolne denge apni bhasha aur agar aap nahi bologe wo bhi dikkat hai toh phir wo Taylor Swift hi sunegi nahi toh baki hamare singers nahi sunenge wo.”

Meanwhile, Manoj Bajpayee also advised Bharti and Harsh during his conversation on their podcast not to send their son to nursery school. He reasoned his statement by saying that these are the years when children need to play, and anyway after 5 years of age, the actual grinding work would start.
In an interview with Janice Sequeira, Manoj previously discussed his daughter’s inability to speak Hindi fluently. He revealed that her Hindi teacher was disappointed with her, given her body of work. Calling her ‘puri angrez,’ Manoj mentioned that his daughter started watching Hindi soap operas and films to improve her fluency in the language.
