Mannara Chopra, who has mainly worked in regional cinema, rose to immense popularity with her stint in the reality show, Bigg Boss 17. Her on-and-off-again friendship with Munawar Faruqui and Anurag Dobhal and ugly fights with Ankita Lokhande became some of the highlights of the reality show. For the unversed, Mannara is also a cousin of the acclaimed Bollywood actresses, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Parineeti Chopra. However, she refused to talk about her cousins during the entirety of the show.
Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the Bigg Boss 17 contestant, Mannara, spoke about how she came into the world of glitz and glamour and her life to date. During their conversation, the actress revealed that the Bollywood biggie, Priyanka Chopra helped her in the beginning and arranged a photoshoot for her. She said:

“My sister, Priyanka, she got me a photoshoot with Avinash Gowariker at that point of time and maine toh wo bas pictures li, pata nahi wo kaise circulate ho gayi, wo aise hi generally karaya tha, you know you need a photo. And wahan se mujhe calls aane lage auditions ke.”

Mannara further disclosed that she has done three commercials with Priyanka Chopra. The actress also listed out the names of industry peeps she worked with during the beginning of her career in Tinseltown. Mannara recalled working with Salman Khan and Imtiaz Ali. She also divulged that she was the face of Gaana.com when her Bollywood film, Zid, was released. She added:
“I started doing a lot of ads. So, I shot with Salman sir at that point of time for a commercial. I have shot with Imtiaz Ali sir at Lucknow, and I shot with Habib Faizal sir. So me and Priyanka did three commercials together. It was a wonderful feeling. Then I was the face of Gaana.com, bajna chahiye gaana, wo tab release huyi jab meri film Zid release huyi. I remember in the Bombay Times, ek taraf meri film ka ad hai aur ek taraf Gaana ka poster hai. It was a nice feeling.”
In the same interaction, the host heaped praises on Mannara for not using her family’s name during the course of BB17. For the unversed, the actress used to plead to her co-contestants not to use either Priyanka or Parineeti’s name on the show. Mannara revealed why she used to ask such a thing. She said:
“So, basically ye meri life ka funda hai, I don’t like to take advantage of being known through someone. When people started talking about it toh honestly mere mann mein ek hich aata tha ki why are you talking about my family and everything. Because if I’ve been invited by the Bigg Boss platform, it is primarily because they like my personality and they wanted me to be there as Mannara. So, you talk about me. You talk about my films, my journey, mere se lado, mere se baatein karo, mujhse gappe maaro.”

Mannara further added that everybody in her family has their own space, so, she felt it wouldn’t be good to involve them. She also said that now several celebrities, as well as the host of Bigg Boss, Salman Khan, know her because of her personality. She said:

“Don’t involve my family because everybody has their own space in life and they are also married, they have their own family. So, don’t involve them. I feel it looks kind of a show-off ke aap apne aap ko kisi tarah portray kar rahe ho. I feel jitney celebrities’ aaye hai and our host Salman Khan sir who represents our country on international platform, aaj woh log jitna mujhe jaante hai, and they know me by my personality. So, agar har line mein kisi aur ka naam lungi toh accha nahi lagta. That was my only reason, and I am the same person outside.”
