In an interview with ETimes, Mandakini expressed her opinion on the nepotism charge that is often inflicted on the star kids. The Ram Teri Ganga Maili actress revealed that nepotism is a natural phenomenon for her. In her words:

"As far as nepotism is concerned, I think it is quite a natural phenomenon. When an actor is working, his children grow up in that atmosphere. It is natural for the kids to feel like doing the same thing that their parents are doing. Children accompany their parents on sets and social events. They meet directors, producers and other actors there. So it is natural to get influenced and there is nothing wrong in following your parents’ footsteps."

In the same interview, Mandakini even voiced her opinion on the boycott culture. Talking about the same, Mandakini said:

"I don’t support this boycott culture. Artists and technicians work really hard and a lot of effort goes into making a film. People should go and watch movies in the theatres. An artist is always an artist. Whatever he is doing is for the public’s entertainment."

Earlier in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Mandakini had opened up about her long break from the showbiz industry. The actress even talked about her upcoming music video, Maa O Maa. In her words:

"It was on my mind for a long time that my kids are old enough now and I can get back to work. I was thinking about all this when I met Saajan. We have known each other since our younger days. We have known each other since the time we first came to Bombay. Our association is old, he liked the fact that I wanted to make a comeback and he came up with the idea immediately, on the spot. Besides, it is a sweet song with good music and lyrics. I thought it would be good. Films may take time - you choose subjects and listen to story etc, a song is a song. The song also talks about mother's sentiments. So I just decided to go with it. It is better to start with a smaller project after so long."
